We bought our UltraPlus 9000HD PVR 2nd hand on Trademe. First issue was Internal HD causing unit to freeze up. Replaced HD with a smaller one, as recommended by importers of the unit (after months of tiring investigative work!). Solved that problem. Just done that and now the audio is skipping on playback - skipping on time shift and also when playing recorded programme. What now - do me write it off as a lemon, or try spending even more time and money trying to get the thing to work properly? Any help appreciated.
Pleased to report - problem fixed by turning box off and allowing it to reboot.
Hope not to have repeat of previous problem with HD constantly freezing which could only be fixed by turning box off and on again - MANY times per night!

I have had the same problem intermittantly since I bought my Ultraplus F9000 four years ago. I have updated the software each time a new version is released. From time to time , it completely freezes and I have to turn it off at the wall. I suspect that these issues were the reason that this model was replaced by the F9200.

Did you always factory reset after upgrading the firmware?
No I have not done a factory reset.I have been afraid of losing recorded programmes and saved channels
Are you able to explain how to do it please.The manufactures manual is woefully inadequate and written in Chinese/English techno-speak

Try turning off Time Shift. Whenever you install new s/w Time Shift is turned by default and is constantly updating the HDD. Alternatively use a USB stick in either USB slot ( I use the rear slot for convenience) and assign Time Shift to that device. Saves the HDD and also prevents many HDD related issues.
