I have a new dvr-320t, and find it great other than when I press record in the program then try and stop the recording it wont let me. It asks if you want to stop recording, I select yes and it continues to record. I've tried stopping it from the play list too, but it still records. The only way to stop it is to pull the power cord out. Does anyone else have a problem like this? Or is there some minimum record time or similar setting?

I tested again today and it worked fine.

But the last two nights its done this I've been recording Prime. Hopefully it was just a glitch. It also had a full lockup last night. Just want to a blank screen. I got so fed up I just walked out of the room and this morning it was fine again.

i'd still be inclined to do a factory reset. i used to have a draco hdtv5500, when i first bought it i was having issues with the box freezing on me and loosing the picture. a factory reset seemed to cure all the issues i was having with it. not saying it will solve the problems with your jc matthews pvr but it can't hurt.

I did a factory reset last night after it failed to record a program that was booked and linked. {even when I double checked 10mins before the program was due to start}

Then while I was watching another program the video dropped out and I had to press the V-format button to get it back. I've tried another hdmi cable just to check but same issue.

This is the second Freeview approved stb I've owned and both have had problems. Getting tired of this very fast. I have found the phone number for JC Matthew and will give them a call

Mine's been good (apart from an unresolved acknowledged problem, search for the thread) so maybe you've just gotten a dud. I'd give it another go, perhaps get a replacement?

what's your aerial and cabling like? it could be a problem with that if it's the second box you've had issues with.
what programme failed to record for you? it didn't record 'this is not my life' for me on thursday night. luckly i was home so could manually start it recording. this was due to it being repeated on sunday night and the issues the jc matthew pvr has with something that's being repeated later the same week.

The other unit was a Teac HD receiver. And it had issues with the whole unit freezing and shutting down spitting the dummy.

I've had a professional install done, I live very close to Waiatarua and have excellent signal strength and quality.

Yes I've had issues recording Come dine with me, home and away, coleen's real women, balls of steel, and bumble. 3 of those programs have repeat screenings during the week the other two dont.

Not to mention the unit locking up and dropping the picture occasionally too

The problem for me is I convinced the wife that buying a more expensive unit that's freeview approved would solve the problems we were having with the old heap of junk. Unfortunately we are having problems with this unit too, and it always seems to happen during her programs. Which makes matters worse!

Maybe your signal is too strong? I think I heard such a thing is possible, as silly as it sounds, especially if you're that close to such a strong transmitter.

strange, we regularly record bumble and never had an issue. maybe it's just a faulty unit. can you take it back to where you bought it from and get a replacement?
in my experience this pvr is pretty good, only a couple of lock ups (blank screens)in the 10mths i've had it. the only other issue is that it doesn't like recording programmes that are repeated later the same week. i have about 20 programmes set to record each week and 'this is not my life' is the first programme in months that hasn't recorded (the last time it didn't record was one of the first episodes of 'the pacific').

Yeah, I'll give JC Matthew a ring on Monday, And if they are of no help, I'll try and return it back to the freeviewshop

And while you're there, hassle them about the repeat program issue!
