I have a JC Matthews DVR-320T and I've had issues since yesterday setting anything on Four to record.  I managed to set up two series recordings on Monday, one for that night and one for Tuesday.  The Monday night thing recorded OK, but when I checked on Tuesday the program wasn't going to record.  I went to the EPG but trying to add the recording resulted in an error message about being unable to record, and to try again later (Code = -2).  Same thing happened with C4.  I'm pretty sure TV3 was OK.

I tried to rescan the channel, but that didn't make any difference.  Anyone else had similar issues?

On the MagicTV I receive this error:

"This programme cannot be booked at this time. Please try again later.
(code -2)"

Use timer record until they fix it.

Unfortunately, JCMatthews can't do timer recording. It was working Monday, so they must've stuffed something up. I can wait, I just have to record manually at the moment.

Could be somehow I suppose, but I don't think so. The box works fine for watching, and recording most channels is OK. It's just the newly renamed channels, so I guess it's something to do with that.

What I meant is that Freeview implemented some changes. IT could be that in some boxes it causes self resets, in other boxes it shows up as something different - different software and all.

Apparently what it means is that the freeview EPG does not have enough information to enable the pvr to record. At least that is the problem with the homecast when it gives that code. It does seem to happen every now and again on almost all channels. If you have a homecast, they recommend to ring them, presumably  they will contact freeview and sort it out.

If you have a Homecast HT9200DTR, do a factory reset and re-scan your channels. This should fix it. Same may apply for other boxes. It's to do with re-scan of the channels. Not all information was available when the channels went up initially so receivers may have done a partial update.

In general does a reset lose all recordings?

The problem is probably EPG based on DVB-T, so if you're not using that (i.e. PC or sat PVR) you likely won't have a problem.
