Yesterday, my email account was fine.

Today I log in to to find I only have 5 emails (when I should have thousands), all my settings are gone and I have 2 welcome messages (like I have just setup a new account).

Anyone else having this issue? Anyone else missing mail from Hotmail/outlook.com?

Have you created a new alias for Hotmail/Outlook by any chance? Is this a custom domain?

Check the deleted folder? Inside deleted folder is recovery option to undelete some deletes emails. go to hotmail support and raise a ticket. They are pretty good with looking into individual situations.

Already checked there and tried the recovery. Nothing.

I doubt it was my email some how being wiped, as my account settings are also gone.

I would ticket them, if I can figure out how to, I cannot find any ticketing system. The only way I have found to contact them is their forums, which I have posted on.

Well, no reply from their forums or feedback system (only place I could find to contact them).

Anyone else know anywhere to try?

Contact nathan. He is a Microsoft NZ employee. Recently sorted out an hotmail issue for someone.

It is a free service so I doubt they have any official support, as who would cover the cost of staffing that? Even if you do find a form somewhere it may just be a feedback form, rather than a support form assigning you a support ticket.
That is why I pay for my email hosting with personal support, which is very handy for this sort of problem. They can usually solve any problem like this very quickly.

There is a official support forum for hotmail.

I fully understand this. This is actually my less important email account (my main one is hosted by myself).

I like to keep a separate, hosted email account for various reasons, mainly testing and all those web stores/forums.

I've tried this, unfortunately I received no answer.

I will give Nathan a go.

Overall I had a backup, so its not the end of the world. I want to contact them partly to inform them about a very serious issue, rather than get a couple of missing emails back.

The same thing has happened to me.  Does anyone know how to recover email.

This has happened without warning when a custom domain is validated.

Any help much appreciated.

Now that I think about it, this happened the day after I validated my domain.

Maybe I was looking at a cached copy for a evening.

Good to know its not just me though!
