Obviously we didn't have the LTSB media which is good. I didn't take note of the KB number that actually installed it though. All working fine and looking good.

this using WSuS or windows update?

I just checked using windows update online.

looking on our wsus server - look like it windows 7, 8.1, 10 (10240) -> 10 1511, not what i was wanting with just windows 10 upgrades. most likely if i want to use this would have to push out reg hack to stop upgrades to windows 7, 81 pc first.

wouldn't you just target the updates at your Win10 1507 machines and not down-level if that's what you want?

our windows 10 pc are in the same container as windows 7, and same wsus policy for all pc - so would have do work to split out and target just windows 10 pc.

I have the same question: We have a large number of non-Domain, "standalone", Windows-Update-only-updating, Windows 10 Enterprise systems running build 1507/10240 -- that are KMS-activated. In fact all of the Windows machines on our campus (probably close to 25K if not more) are all KMS-activated. We do not use MAK activation.

When will those see the 1511 update in Windows Update? Is there a timeframe for this? Will those kinds of "standalone" Enterprise installs always be the *last* to see OS updates moving forward? (In practice, these "non-managed" Enterprise installs are no different than a "Home/Professional" install -- so they should see them sooner....)

To use Windows Update (or Windows Update for Business) for KMS-activated devices, you need to set a Registry key on the device.

On the device where you want to enable Windows 10 upgrade using Windows Update, open an administrator command prompt.

Run the following command:

reg add HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\OSUpgrade /f /v AllowKMSUpgrade /t REG_DWORD /d 1

Important After you set the registry key, the device must connect to the corporate network and be activated after upgrade completes.
