What's so good about America? Why try to be like them?

I love this country! Politics wont change that for me.

wikileaks has shown all govs to be bad liers not just usa.. remember what they tried to do to john lennon when he protested in usa over nixon and the war...
same deal with wikileaks .. again some good documentaries on wikileaks on p2p exposing the real story not the gov controlled media news we hear.. p2p was invented like the web to spread the truth..

im afraid all mps have their own agendas and they get paid well for messing up the country in the process.

they dont represent me.. if they did things liek this bill would be setyip where people could register to vote on it directly each time and then its the people choices if they want this or not..

perhaps closeup needs to do a text poll :)

juat means if you caught 1 times you get a warning and you just switch over to a seedbox or vpn in another country so the isp cant follow what your doing.. lol so then you dont get 2 or 3 strikes..

i doubt most MPs know how to do little more then turn on a pc then even know or used or watch shows via p2p downloads to see what the fuss is about after all

the users tend to be more clever then the control freaks sadly .. its all about greed and power

another one for jesse ventura conspiracy files show

So F'EN move then. We don't want you here!

There is a big plus here, hopefully peak hour speeds will improve (for those people who are affected).

Also, everyone who is complaining, obviously download illegally (as defined by the act), is that why you are so pissed?

Just a quick analogy:
If one plans on robbing a bank, they dont just do it on a whim, they plan, spend lots of time and money, and execute it with discretion and anonymity. Fail to do this and one gets hooked by the law.

(i dont condone this by the way)

robbing a bank your in a dream world.. perhaps instead of taking your news from the main stream and get into p2p content you might wake up...

so poor mister simon cowe looses a fw million.. and an actor wants 1 million for 10min acting in a tv show.. e.g. csi
britians got talent is the best but he wont allow nz screen it cos theres no money in it LOL

if they want to rid p2p.. most of it used for getting fav shows or shows you cant see in nz after all.

they could offer anyone in world download a episode for 10cents when it airs...

in non drm format xvid format

its simple really

It has always been illegal mate, just now its easier for the authorities to crack down on it.

So, your in favour of the Robin Hood principle where the rich have too much money so you (illegally) rob them to give to the less fortunate? Even though you think it might be moral, it is still illegal.

I do agree with making shows/movies available for worldwide download for minimal cost, but as it stands today, the current business model will just not support it. There are reasons why they stagger the releases of Movie and TV Shows, it comes down to making the most profit for their investment. As for not showing TV shows here, blame your tv provider not the NZ government. For some reason, they must think that the amount of money they will make from screening your show will be negligible -prove them wrong, start a petition or whatever.

As for getting movies released at the same time as overseas, petition the studios, boycott the theatres.
I wrote an email a while back and sent it to a few studios etc about this saying how pissed I was at the state of NZ's movie distribution/end user costs, and how companies like Netflix were not allowed to stream here because of copyright.

I too like you am rather passionate about this topic but I know where the heat needs to be directed.

this sort of law wont really address the issue, it may stop(scare) the odd person who doesn't really understand how you can hide your identity on the internet, but not the serious downloaders who use Secure connections seedboxes ssh tunnels vpn's etc

Supposedly it is being introduced under 'urgency'. I wonder why this is. Anyone know how it compares to Ozzie, UK and US laws.

And quite possibly be used to take down the opposition by spoofing someone else's IP into a Tracker and that sort of fun....

Or just used to make baseless claims that someone else is infringing your copyright on some fictional file without any recourse against false claims.

I had a read through the bill. It makes the ISP's track you by IP and pass on 3 warnings about copyright infringement. After 3 warnings you can be taken to a tribunal and be fined 15k for each song, or have your internet cut off. Apparently you are responsible for anyone who uses your network - that goes for library's and cafes too.
