Kind of on the same lines I have a vodafone voucher due to expire mid oct will I be able to use it on the note4 or will I have to go for iphone 6plus ;)

Can't use vouchers on iPhones at launch, sorry. Generally it takes a few weeks for outright and vouchers to become available.

Too early to say for the Note 4, but I'd expect you're more likely to be able to use the voucher on the Note at launch.

Worst case scenario, I'm sure we'll be happy to reissue it for you (again!) until the phone you want is available. :)

Anyone know what processor the NZ market will be getting?

Snapdragon 805 or the Exynos 5433

I am hoping for the 5433 but I'm thinking NZ will get the 805

Anyone know anything?

Sweet. They told me they wouldn't re-issue it (was due to expire 4/9 but asked for another 6 weeks they did but dsaid there would be no more extensions) - so I need to speak nicely to you if it's not available to use on voucher ;)

Well, that makes things easy!

Exynos 5433 it is. Octa-core...with a glorious Wolfson DAC, which I expect to be music to the ears of the folks in the know.

Was quite excited when I heard we were getting the Exynos, as previously I had understood the NZ market was slated to get the Qualcomm variant.

Depends how much detail you want. :)

There will be a lot of different regional variants of the Note 4 supporting different bands and network operators, et cetera, but the two major hardware variants have radically different SoCs (System on a Chip/Processor) and other internals despite being physically identical on the outside. This is similar to the Exynos vs. Snapdragon variants of the S III, S4, and Note 3, although there was a divide between 3G-only and 4G support in favour of the Snapdragon versions at that time. Samsung is now using Intel basebands, so both the Snapdragon and Exynos variants will support 4G LTE. US variants generally get Snapdragons over Exynos.

With regard to the Note 4:

There's the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805, which is a quad-core SoC that has Qualcomm's Adreno 420 GPU and Qualcomm's own audio solution.

See the Anandtech piece on Snapdragon 805 here and more info on Qualcomm's site here.

Then there's the Samsung Exynos 5433, which is an octa-core SoC (Two pairs of four cores) that has a Mali GPU from ARM and is paired with a Wolfson DAC (Digital to Analogue Convertor/'sound card'). This is Samsung's own SoC design, and technically has 64bit components, although speculation at this stage is that it will never run in 64bit more (Android itself will not support 64bit until the L release).

For most folks this won't mean anything at all. For those who're interested in the details, it's very cool to see a completely different system architecture.

I was going to say,"Wolfson DAC" I know this and think NZtechfreak goes on about it. Looks like the Note 4 will get L sometime soon too, so it sounds like the Exynos is a good way to go.

Interesting Noel leeming beat the telcos to it in getting pre-order notices up!
spark & vodafone slow on the uptake!

confirmed delivery for October, think I saw a date somewhere online, mid-end from memory.

ivebeen scoring the net for news on the EDGE version, nothing remotely about any NZ release.

Only 1 million phones will be released to market - BOO!!! I want it!

oh, FYI the #Bendgate tests on the iPhone6plus & Note 3 for comparison, vids here. nice work! the note 3 only slightly warped after the 2nd time of trying to bend the sh!t out of it!
