MikeMan:
Yeah I forced the Android 7 release onto my P9+ but I should never have had to.
How'd you do that? I looked at ways to do it, but it didn't work on my international variant of the P9. I looked at custom ROMs but it's not worth the risk IMHO.
I followed Moodie007's instructions in the following posts.

Ah ok, thanks. That didn't work for me.
I would recommend that staying clear of Huawei Products would be prudent.
Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.
I forced the b300 update on my p9+ (after several attempts over a couple of days), and it's now running great on spark. Time to go back to Huawei and ask about a patch for the new wifi attack, I guess.
On twitter the NZ team said that there is an updated update coming. "yes the upcoming P9 Plus update is looking to address KRACK and Blue Borne fixes"
So I guess b300 isn't the end of the road my my p9+, at least not just yet. (I'd recommend getting it in the meanwhile, if you don't have other updates and can get the update procedure to work for you)
Mate 9 has just had 2 updates released, due to a server issue which was preventing them being pushed out.
might be something for the p9.
i have seen the Nougart (7.0) and emui 5.0 update is avaliable for some models.
I have good news, guys.
I have a Huawei P9 Lite on 2degrees and had never received any software updates. It was running Android security patch level September 2016 for crying out loud.
I'd pretty much given up hope that Android 7 would ever be made available for this phone, but tonight I decided to perform another Google search to see if there was any news. Surprisingly, I found a website that said Huawei had published the Android 7 update for the New Zealand variant in August 2017.

I still wasn't being offered any updates over the air, so downloaded Huawei's HiSuite application from here:
http://consumer.huawei.com/minisite/HiSuite_en/
Using this app, my P9 lite is now up-to-date.
These are the version numbers reported on my phone:
EMUI version 5.0.1
Android version 7.0
Android security patch level 6 November 2017
the VNS-L22-C706 has the B362 update available for it dated 09/11/17. weather its been pushed out is a different story
Unfortunately HiSuite didn't find an update for my P9, international version.
I considered installing LineageOS, but I don't know if it's worth the risk. You lose the nice camera app which I use a lot, you never know how reliable it will be.

Took a few goes but that worked (Spark p9lite)...... :-)
My 2degrees P9 Lite has just recognised an OTA update to VNS-L22C706B362 1.88GB. Downloading now. Update notes say you can actually roll back to EMUI 4.1 BUT will loose all your personal data.
