Damn! Google have cancelled my order and locked my checkout account until I can validate my identity. Have sent them what they were asking for, but it may take up to 4 days

You know, I actually think the HTC Hero looks better then the Nexus One, I know under the hood its a superior device but I wish Google had dressed it up a little bit better.

ouch, gee... i hope that's merely a software issue, maybe because the n1's resolution is new to android its like trying to fit a shoe on a monkeys foot

So what is the mechanism for paying duty once phone arrives in Godzone? Does Customs notify you of duty to be paid or is it collected at point of pick-up ie courier etc.

I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.

peejayw - customs will send you a form with the details of how to pay, normally an 0800 number to give credit card details to.

I hope that screen issue gets fixed soon, maybe my delays are a good thing.

Yup I've got the letter, can mail them a cheque, ring up and provide visa or mastercard details, or go to your nearest customs office and pay (www.customs.govt.nz/contactus) too bad I have to wait until Monday to ring. Hope they accept debit plus!

So my phone's in Auckland now and the status shows "Available on payment by recipient."
Don't they just deliver the product and you get the customs form in the mail?

I called them up, but the told me to call again at 8:30am

I hope I can get this baby today itself. :D
