It appears that hell has frozen over and Samsung has released the April update in April! https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/SM-G965F/TNZ/download/G965FXXS1ARD1/216720/

The start of a more prompt response time by Samsung or just a once off fluke?

This makes it 2 updates in 1 month

Maybe someone at Samsung is trolling the customers - build up their hopes then dash them with 4-5 months of no updates or updates only be delivered to some random place that requires one to look up on an atlas to believe that the place actually exists.

Another update just came through:

https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/SM-G965F/TNZ/download/G965FXXU1ARD4/218575/

Installed it on the phone, everything seems to be going smoothly - I wonder if it is related to the rumours regarding Oreo 8.1 making its way to the phone very soon.

This update is *supposed* to fix the call dropping/blanking issue (as described here: http://piunikaweb.com/2018/03/26/galaxy-s9-users-around-the-globe-reporting-call-dropping-issue/ )

I'm installing this update now. Fingers crossed it really is fixed, as the phone is a bit of a lemon otherwise. Its been hugely frustrating to hav 10 - 20s periods of audio blanking while on work calls

There is positive feedback on the website: http://piunikaweb.com/2018/05/04/good-news-update-rolls-out-to-fix-samsung-galaxy-s9-call-issues/

Any must do/initial set up steps? TIA.

Any joy getting the FM radio to work on the sm-g960/965 Nz models?

Yes appreciate the official line that only the North American chipset has the radio chip, and even then there’s been issues with it being disabled in firmware.

No FM radio in the NZ models.

That's only available in the Snapdragon models unfortunately.

Hello team.  I'm still learning my way around Android.  I've found that I can't remove a lot of the Samsung apps, which is fine, I've just hidden them away where possible and set defaults to other apps where I can.  One that I'm having some confusion with is the Camera.  I use the physical button to quickly launch the camera, and then when I take a shot and want to do a quick edit (crop etc), it does that within the default Samsung Gallery app.  Then I seem to have to save the photo for it to show up in Google Photos.  Google Photos is already set up as the default images app for most functions.  Am I able to change the default behaviour of the camera?  I've had a look through its settings but can't see much that's helpful other than actual camera settings.

I keep up to date by flashing the latest firmware for the DBT CSC. It is usually the first to get each new firmware. It is part of the same OXM firmware group as the NZ carriers so it is the exact same thing they will be rolling out eventually. Usually get the latest security patch a couple before the 20th of each month this way.
