Finally caved in - or more correctly, Mme Finance Committee relented - going to Vodafone Albany on Friday morning to pick mine up.

Had a little play at the Samsung kiosk - very nice!

When is the official release date? Have mine pre ordered from the Samsung site as I wanted the VR headset but they have given no reference to when it may ship.

Actually their website is pretty poor really. They could learn a thing or two by going through the process of buying an iPhone via apple direct. I've done that twice now and the process was smooth as silk, everything was 100% clear and the item arrived before they said it would. Samsungs NZ site was very unclear, buggy and actually cheap looking. I wonder if that has put many off from buying directly? No excuse for such a technology giant.

Yeah i looked at that also for the VR headset, but the process seemed weird to me, so ended up off Spark, with the credit etc I wasn't to worried about the VR.  Spark was pretty good I must admit, did it all online renewing my contract as part of it as it was due.

I'm a rural delivery so guessing it'll be early next week. Not desperate but it's been some time since I had a new toy all for me hehe

Hardly touched an android in the last 3 years so the learning curve will be fun. Whats the best app/thing to do with VR headset? Is there a movie player? :)

Samsung website says they ship on the 18th.

This ties in with Vodafone Albany saying they will have stock on Fri morning and "won't sell out on Day 1, unlike iPhone releases" (their words).
