Looks like what happens on a laptop when the LCD has been squashed. I'd return it under warranty.
I purchased it in January. Pbtech want me to send it to Auckland for repair, I can't however as it's a work phone and I can't be without it being the manager of 25 staff. So I have to wear it for now until I can afford a new phone at which point this will go in for repairs and then be sold when fixed.
Hi Mate 9 owners
do you still recommend this phone ? I am thinking of picking this one up this long weekend. I currently have lg g4. Thanks.
I still love it as does my wife. havent really found anything bad with it yet.
Thanks for replies. any of you had lg g4 before ? just want to know if camera is better or at lease same as G4 ?
And general performance of the phone and battery life?
Except camera everything else i hate about G4 and want to make sure i dont buy another with similar issues.
BTW planning to buy at noelleeming tomorrow, let me know if there are cheaper places to buy. thanks again.
i was considering the G4 before i brought the mate 9.
battery life is great, couple of hours using google maps (full brightness), couple of hours browsing the web, and a few hours streaming music/video to chromecast (at 50% brightness) and im down to about 50% battery. Takes about 45 mins to get it back to about 90+% on the charger.
camera is pretty good but i havent really compared it to other phones since ive had it.
firmware version B172 is out now. just looks like general optimisations

I replaced my LG G4 with the Mate 9 and couldn't be happier with it. The camera, in "auto" mode is probably about the same, if a touch worse in low light conditions, but as soon as you switch it to "pro", it has the potential to blow the G4 out of the water. Sure, there's a bit of a learning curve there, but it's definitely worth taking the time to experiment.
