Haven't noticed mine getting hot at all. 6hrs screentime yesterday and no issues.

There was a day one update waiting for mine when I set this up. Have you applied that?

I got the text for mine yesterday morning.  Tore in there after some family duty.  Joined the queue of people (yes there was a queue) lining up to get note 20s.  I chit chatted with the person next to me who said that they were upgrading from the S7 edge, which was a replacement for their Note 7 fireball.

So far loving the buds no that I know which way up they go.  Phone good although jury still out on battery life.

It is big, noticeably more so than my note 9.  The camera bump makes it wobble while on the desk even in a spigen case.  I think it will be flat in the samsung rugged case I have coming.

Cases were all sold out on saturday so I was glad I grabbed the spigen when I preordered earlier in the week.

The screen sure is nice although not in love with the punch hole.

The real big question is why on earth didn't they make it fatter with a 5500mha battery and a flat profile?

Does anyone know how to run wireless Dex apps on windows 10?  I am confused if this is Dex or the MS link to phone funtion.  Dex appears to only do wireless on smart tvs.

Coming from the S20 ultra to this I disagree with making it fatter with a bigger battery.
The S20 ultra was almost unwieldy compared. The Note20 Ultra feels great in hand and with the speed of the charging meh.

On PC you are talking currently about Microsoft My Phone on PC.
That is different to DeX. To access DeX for PC download the companion software from the Samsung Website.

Wireless DeX only works on Mirrorlink compatible TV's.

A clear winner... the Snapdragon unsurprisingly!

Edit: typo

Yes, Indeed, we all feel a bit ripped off, despite so Im buying another galaxy.

With the news samsung has garunteed 3 years android support for phones after the S10 and A31 series, Im weighing up a parralel imported Snapdragon. This means the Samsung is supported longer than the native android Pixel 4a, Ive not personally found much of an issue with timely updates. This means an S10e will get the same support time as a pixel 4a, well done samsung on that one.

https://news.samsung.com/global/samsung-raises-the-bar-for-mobile-experience-innovation-committing-to-three-generations-of-android-os-upgrades

But if we think the N20 25% less performance is a PITA, check out the difference in the A71 exynos vs snapdragon 730, 67% single core. 42% multi core, 80% better GPU in the SD730. Come on Samsung, play fair. And then they state outright its to produce more revenue.

What can you do? Well Im shopping Parralel Imported or Importing directly (which will forfit my warranty). Will post if I find a local Note Ultra parralel importer, 1y local support is better than none.

The N20 is hard to find locally in sd865, the A71 however is $650 (comparable to Pixel 4a but much better specs like 102h hour vs 76h endurance at gsmarena)

Parallel Imported has it, but that's certainly a premium for the 865+, and only a 1 year warranty vs. Samsung's 24 month local warranty.

The Asus ROG 3 is another good phone with the Snapdragon 865+ if you can live with the gaming branding, and without the S-Pen.

It sucks that they didn't add in the note 9 or perhaps S9 for getting an extra year too. I am not sure it it reduces the usable life of such a device by much though, as it is only the OS, and app tend to support some very old android versions. My main concern is over security of older Android versions.

Wonder if this has something to do with why yours is hot and mine isn't

I've found they get hottest when you first fill it using smart switch. Maybe to do with all the Wi-Fi, disk writing etc?

^that doesn't surprise me at all given the activity it's performing at the time. The bigger concern is heat during light activity, or overheating during heavy activity.

fyi PB Tech Chch have the note 20 cases back in stock.  I picked up a spigen rugged armor on pre order day as this is the normal case I get for phone.  Only (minor) issue is that the camera hump isn't flattened with the thin case so when it's sitting on the desk and you use it it wobbles a bit.

Rugged armour

https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/MPPSGP01396/Spigen-Galaxy-Note-20-Ultra-69-Tough-Armor-Case-Bl

Today I picked up the Samsung ultra protective case:

https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/MPPSAM90032670/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-20-Ultra-Protective-Standing-C

It's a little thicker than the spigen but it has the kick stand and, importantly, the extra case thickness means the phone sits flat on the desk.  Highly recommended.

I had both these cases for my note 9 and they get my reccomendation.

On a less good note there is a bubble under my factory screen protector.  Now it will annoy me until I get another one.
