jamesyb0i: $800 before import tax for me.... Customs opened mine (Its a box within an oversized box) and left a leaflet saying they inspected my goods, funny thing is... the leaflet was right on top of the Google receipt, which clearly shows $529USD. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm..

jamesyb0i

All I can say is: You lucky Sh*t.  First you get away with California State tax by puting in the 9 digit zip code, then get away with being woloped by NZ Customs.

That must be some sweet smelling stuff you have trod in!

You nearly did it perfect except for not making a customs declaration with under $400NZ or gift of $500NZ.

Now this button does what? whoops!

Yeehaa - mine has shipped from Google, next stop Shipito. No state tax, and hopefully no NZ either! SHipito haven't asked any questions so far and I have already paid the $8.50 parcel fee plus a deposit on the shipping fees.

Read some good oil on getting a lot of battery performance improvement out of the N1 by ditching the native sms app (apparently it keeps the phone awake all the time) and doing a bit of battery conditioning.

What documents have you uploaded, and have you completed their 1583 Form and signed it?
They require this with two forms of ID.

And if you have tracking number you can complete customs declaration. Remember value under $400NZ about $280US.

They haven't asked for anything at all in that regard, my account is activated and has credit - wait and see I guess.
edit:
Just checked and it says this on my account:
Your account has spending monthly limit $1000.
Used this month: $0, Remaining: $1000
You can increase your monthly spending limit by completely veryfying your account.

Looks like I am good to go.

A quick check and I found a 20% off coupon and they now have a skin for the Nexus One but at $24.95 it's a bit rich for me even with 20% since there's shipping and finding somebody to send to you. Get two or anything more than $29 and there's free shipping.

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.

I have not used shipito, but I have opened an account.  I will be interested to see what happens to you.
But as I understand it I think people are confused by Account Verification and Virtual Address.

The first step is not about account verification, but the virtual address and US law. unhide Home address USA address, under virtual address thier is a blue ? mark against this, click this.

c/o Eastbiz Corp. ?

To remove "c/o Eastbiz Corp." from your address, please upload signed FORM 1583 and two copies of ID to our address (Account Verification section).

I suspect even if you have paid in advance for postage they may not process any package with your assigned box no unless you have done this.  Let me know how things go.

P.S.  People also seem confused about the 1583 Form in relation to Box 15 Virtual Address/Account Verification.  For Virtual Address and 10% trust re Account Verification Box 15 is not signed. shiipto will sign box 15.  Only if you want an extra 40% trust get box 15 signed by a Justices of the Peace, and post the ORIGINAL back to shipito. In box 8a and b make sure you put your passport and/ or drivers licence no. and expire date.

Interesting twobikes, I read it that I only neaded to verify if I wanted to increase my shipping allowance. I also read the bit about not using the c\o Eastbiz Corp and funnily enough didn't use that in the address in the Google checkout. Despite all of that I have a package ready to go according to the them.

Form 1583 is a USPS form, so maybe it is only required if you use USPS rather than FedEX?
