So, anyone that has these, any further comments about it?  I'm very tempted to place an order, but waiting a month for delivery is really putting me off, considering I could go out and get a Galaxy S for a similar price local.

Anywhere else other than clove to purchase them?  I notice that there a few etailers (such as Eking) but they're a couple of hundred more expensive, and will probably take just as long.  Has anyone had any experience ordering elsewhere?

I highly doubt you would be waiting  a month if you ordered now - the stock is catching up with the orders fairly quickly.

Worth the wait IMO, but I'm still waiting for mine, should be shipped tonight (would have been yesterday but had issues with the authorization code- nz banks don't know much about it)

It works out to be around $870 Nz including postage, possibly GST on top of that but usually not if you ship using the royal post airsure option (DHL always charges GST).

Indeed. Be interested to see what you think when you get yours - I'm still on the fence, and won't be able to purchase until the 15th unfortunately.

I'm really pleased I bought mine. I loved my HTC Desire (which now has a new home) and feel that the Desire HD is far superior. I'm still on the fence a bit over the screen. Some days I swear the AMOLED screen was better, but most of the time I don't notice it.

After a couple of weeks use I'm not seeing any great difference in battery life between the original Desire and the Desire HD. The DHD is marginally better performing on 3G, but nothing to really rave about. It is significantly better performing compared to the original Desire when used a lot over WiFi. I need to run some tests at some point as I suspect the DHD is giving much better battery life than I am noticing. I didn't listen to music at all on my original Desire and hardly ever watched YouTube. Videos look so fantastic on the DHD that I am watching them now. And using them to demonstrate to others just how good the phone looks ;)

That said - the phone is fantastic but not perfect. HTC will probably have something new out that beats the pants off this one within the next 6 months or so.

If you don't mind my asking, when did you place your order? Trying to figure out how far down the list I still am

Mine came out at $902 for the phone, screen protectors, and airsure shipping. Or thats what it was with exchange rate when i ordered.

It' hasn't been charged on my card yet so the final amount may change a little depending on exchange rate when it ships.

Has anyone used the Galaxy S and the Desire?  I mean, the Galaxy can be had for around 8 hundy, and the cheapest you can get the desire for is around 1k (if you get it from clove).  Obviously theres a case of 'waiting', but it seems to me that there are a few pros and cons for both, and if one is significantly cheaper than the other then it's kindof obvious.

However, if both were in front of me ready to purchase, I'd probably go the HD.

September 25th. They actually had stock last friday - but they were not working over the weekend to get the authorization code from us and send it.
