own3d: I'm getting around 550 GBP ($1120) from clove vs $999 from mobicity ($1150 incl tax) & incl shipping
With the chance of customs tax from clove vs 15% from mobicity
It maybe slightly cheaper from clove, but the risk doesn't equal the $30

What do you guys think?

Where do you get 550GBP? I get 453GBP if you use Airsure shipping, there is no sales tax if shipping to NZ, but probably GST once it gets here

I see 429 on Clove, 412 on Handtec in Pounds. Where are you getting your 550?

From clove I included VAT and shipping to NZ (unless you get out of paying VAT)

You don't play VAT, but you will likely pay GST.

So we may (or may not) pay GST on items via Clove or Mobicity depending on if the package gets investigated? Same risk, but overall cheaper from Clove ($920 ish incl shipping) vs $999 best case or ($1058 vs $1150 if caught)

Well I am really hoping that VF is going to offer the SIII on $0 for a contract, like they did with the HTC One X since they had the same RRP at release.

You're pretty likely to pay gst.

If they do, it'll be on an exorbitantly priced plan.

Yeah, probably should've checked the VF site before I opened my gob. . . .  Embarassed

Hmmm. . . . $120 a month for 24 months?  Not in my lifetime!

Telecom have much better plans in that regard.

nofam: That's so cheap! Considering what you get for that! I used to spend $1300 with VF each month (A long time ago) and now I get the same or close to it for $135-150 a month. Hard to beat. Plus I get a new phone.

Well the more Samsung/Vodafone NZ piss around with not releasing prices or official dates the more uncertainty im feeling. This marketing trick doesn't work with me so for the first time in 10 years VodaNZ may not be getting my money.

$1300 a month?? Surprised  Are you Trev from Te Kauwhata or something?

In all seriousness, I just don't make enough calls etc on my mobile to warrant that kind of outlay; I'd be happier to pay a bit more for around 1Gb of data, but $100 a month (x2 for SWMBO's phone), plus fixed line B/B and phone. . . . .Eeek!

Take a breath friend, the phone was only announced a few days ago! They (VF) likely don't themselves what is going to be the fully story yet.

Telecom don't have anything yet, nor 2D.

It will be an interesting launch as all three main telcos have all announced they will be offering the SIII, i doubt there will be too much differentiation between the offerings within each plan bracket

Some heavy discounting like the ip4s launch would make it interesting
