Yes, I have another screen set as default. Just think it's a waste of resources having that thing there.

You can uncheck all the services it uses in the Blinkfeed settings and it'll just sit there empty. It is actually far more useful post 4.2 update.

What alters in terms of Blinkfeed after the update?

I'm also interested to know how the updates get pushed out, and how being on Telecom or Vodafone makes a difference? The phone i bought i guess was intended for Telelcom given that it came with a Telecom prepay microsim (not in the phone, just with it). I just put my Vodafone sim in instead, so as far as i'm aware, it's never actually been affiliated to Telecom in any way.

I know people initially thought the Telecom phones came with 4G disabled, but then confirmed that 4G was working on "Telecom" handsets if you put in a Vodafone sim. So sounds as if there's no real difference overall? In saying that, i only have the small update, and no actual 4.2.2 along with other users here who seem to have "Telecom" handsets. And sounds as if there's a reputation in place there for being slower to update..

Yes does appear that Telecom is lagging behind a bit.
I did notice the other day that the Telecom site specs of the HTC One state that it has Android Ver. 4.2.2. So not sure why it says that when clearly the update hasn't been pushed to all the phones (unless it now comes with it out of the box).....

It might just depend which batch of phones each vendor received. These sort of updates from HTC have always been batched, probably by imei or the like, so patience is required. Last time (on One X) it took 2 days after the particular sub-version first appeared on NZ phones for it to arrive on my handset.

Hi Does anyone know if their daydream option is Display once enabled is working? The phone does not seem to go to daydream even when i selected the option to enable when i charge the phone and selected the colors option?

Has anyone got daydream working?
Daydream works fine on my Nexus 4 but doen't want to work on HTC ONE for some reason.

Might as well just flash a custom rom at this point.

Checked for updates and got the small fix up. Then after a restart checked again... Installing 4.2.2 now:

Ummmm... I got the small Update manager update as well and a telecom HTC One from my telecom Shop... I'm not getting the update. Now I'm starting to panic after waiting for weeks for the update D: any ideas whats wrong? My Phone was unlocked out of the box (Telecom said they sold Unlocked Phones). So I'm wondering if yours in unlocked too. Anyways, I hate to ask for help however in this case I feel I need it.

There's likely nothing wrong, just the update is being delivered to different phones at different times. No way to predict when yours will arrive, we all just have to wait our turn ;)

Thanks guys, still very stressed though. 'O_o. Anyways, I wanted to ask one question. Do I need an Antivirus for Android? and can the Antivirus interfere with the updates. Assuming you know about the Android "Master Key" Vulnerability and the HTC One is vulnerable as well as the Play store Vulnerability.

A couple of things...
Updates aren't pushed out to everyone at once, they take a few days so servers aren't overloaded etc.

Telecom and Vodafone editions are identical so everyone will get it soon enough.

As for anti virus on Android, you are the best protection. The only way you are vulnerable to the exploits is if you are sideloading apps from dodgy sources. Don't do that and you'll be fine.

4.2 is definitely worth the update. The menu bar changes, quick settings and perf increases make for a much better experience.

I agree about the update, as well as Android Security.
Thanks for the info. I was thinking about installing Comodo Anti-theft. Do you think its good or has anyone tried it?

hmm, You are probably right, still might be worth checking out this video though. And how what setting is that? I've never seen a setting to scan apps :|
