Settings > Security > Verify Apps. It's a 4.2 feature. Though I think you can find it in the Google settings app as well.

From Google:

Android devices that have Google Play installed have the option of using Google as an application verifier. App verification is turned on by default, but no data is sent to Google unless you agree to allow this when asked in the dialog that appears prior to installing the first app from a source other than Google Play.

To control app verification, go to your device's apps menu and touch Google Settings > Verify apps. Touch the box next to verify apps; the setting turns on when the check mark appears. If your device is running Android 4.2 and higher, you can also go to Settings > Security > Verify apps.

Thanks! I will keep that in mind.   I do not get how Antivirus software companies go a bit over the top about infections in my opinion.  I am very fond of AVG and have a bit to do with them however thank you for showing me how to do that.  :)

Be careful with AVG for Android. It was proved a while back their app did absolutely nothing bit media scan to give the appearance of virus scanning.

hmmm, well I know it does actually catch malware however I would say that its signatures are community based so all in all AVG is for the consumers who may not necessarily know about Android Malware.   Here is the review by PCadvisor http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/reviews/software/3349925/avg-mobilation-anti-virus-free-review/

If I am wrong,  then I apologize for my reply and I will be very surprised at AVG and may no longer support them.  If what you said is happening in the legit up to date version then this is a big issue.  Thanks.

This was a year or so. So it's possible they've actually built a properly functioning app since then. I'm just a bit skeptical of them since that.

nunasdream: Any idea when we'll get the 4.2 OTA?

Might as well just flash a custom rom at this point.

Checked for updates and got the small fix up. Then after a restart checked again... Installing 4.2.2 now:

(Telecom HTC One here)

Ummmm... I got the small Update manager update as well and a telecom HTC One from my telecom Shop...  I'm not getting the update.  Now I'm starting to panic after waiting for weeks for the update D:  any ideas whats wrong?  My Phone was unlocked out of the box (Telecom said they sold Unlocked Phones).  So I'm wondering if yours in unlocked too.  Anyways,  I hate to ask for help however in this case I feel I need it.

Apparently  when on Android 4.2.2 your Storage is meant to partition for the multiple user thing, I'm just wondering how much storage is partitioned or if you dont have to actually partition your storage and it can stay at 20 or so GB

heres a video that alerted me of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1YiI-ZZGBs

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

Multi user isn't supported on phones. Also it doesn't actually partition the storage in the traditional sense.

Correct. Just not supported on phones. It was designed with tablets in mind. People generally don't share their phones with other people.

There's a good explanation here from an Android engineer about why it is not yet supported on phones.

Can anyone confirm their 4g is working after the update? I'm in Wellington and on Vodafone 4g plan and now I can't see 4g come up on my phone like before the update. I used to get strong 4g on Lambton Quay but now it only shows h?

Picked up the HTC one today with the intentions of converting it to the Google Edition.

Has anyone with a NZ HTC One been successful?  I'm having trouble editing my MID so I'm able to match the Google Edition phones
