If you've reset the phone and it's still doing it, might be time to take it back and claim a warrantyon it.

So given Huawei now appear to be pulling some seedy BS, if those of us that didn't have the right storage and LDDR4, can we take the phone back?

The only basis for that would probably be if you could find some information from your retailer or in the local market that mentions features that don't exist on your phone.

If I'm doing it correctly my write speed looks like i have the slowest storage possible.

Is there an app I can use that'll tell me my hardware details?

Aida64 will report the ram type. I'm not sure how to confirm ufs version though.

what are the downfalls of using the Firmware Finder app? as opposed to waiting for OTA updates?

Firmware finder won't let you install any updates that Huawei haven't approved for you device yet. The only thing it's useful for is to see if a newer update is currently being rolled out to your particular sub variant. You've still got to wait until Huawei decide it's your turn in the queue though.

As I understand it, you used to be able to bypass the official checks with it but it's now been tightened up.
