nitrotech: I find it a bit strange that they (huawei) can put fm into the u8100 (vf845) worth $200 but can't put it in the device worth more than twice as much.
On top of that no wifi tether yet.
Are these issues going to be show stoppers for joe public?
Disinfo: 2.3 does have some nice ui tweaks so it'd be a pity to skip it and have to wait until 2.4
For me it was a $550 lesson and a bargain for someone on Trade Me

They're not skipping it. 2.4 is replacing 2.3 but retaining the Gingerbread name. The release date for 2.4 has been brought forward.
i.e. new update for Android, called 2.4 (Gingerbread) will be released in April/May

What I meant was it's a shame to have to wait months for Gingerbread when they could do it now (given my much older phone has 2.3 by community effort alone I don't think its unreasonable for a company to provide it now)
PottsyNZ: Why bother with a FM radio? They never work that well with using the headphones as the antenna and tend to be really directional. Get a 16gig sd, put it on shuffle, build a bridge and then get over it
