TheUngeek: Yike's this thread grew since I last read it.....
So the only way to get stuff onto this thing is via WiFi and Bluetooth?
Any guess's as to the GPS performance of it? One of the key functions I'd like one for is navigation
TheUngeek: Oh, did I miss read the stuff about non USB storage? I thought non file transfer via USB? Or is it just file transfers but can't play from a USB?
stuartjmz: I just answered my own question - I forgot I had time left on my month's sub to Overplay. I got into the full Play Store no problem, saw an ad urging me to download the movies and tv app, then saw this:
Elpie:
My Samsung Galaxy S2 was bought in Australia. Google allowed me to get free books on it but stopped me anytime I wanted to buy any. Conversely, I was able to install Google Books on my NZ phone and download free books while I was in Australia but cannot access them now that I am back in NZ. The whole thing is plain stupid.
Giggs:dman:Giggs:dunash: Hopefully they sell it duty free at the Aussie airports...if they did, that may end up the cheapest option (assuming you have someone coming back through Aussie that can pick one up for you!).
I'm thinking you'd get without the gst which would take 10% of the $320 AUD price, ending up around $360 nzd.
Or you simply buy it in the shops, don't open it and claim the gst back as you leave the country.
How? Do they just give you the cash back at the border?? :-s
I'm currently on the notification list Clove.co.uk has, as I reckon that is the best way to get an 8GB one.
Yes they do

stuartjmz:athor:P1n3apqlExpr3ss: Hey guys, wanna learn something interesting? Click here!
For those too lazy to click the link, it'll retail here in NZ for $439
Interesting. I had assumed we would not get the Nexus 7 in NZ, because we don't have Google Movies, Books, or Music. For a device based around consuming media, we only have 1 out of the 4 services google provides.
This is why I'm encouraged to learn that it is coming here. To me, selling it here would only make sense if Google planned to extend its Play market here too. Selling its Fire extinguisher globally then hobbling access to content seems to make little sense.
langers1972: I preordered mine from Noel Leeming so fingers crossed they'll have enough, just need an S3 now!
