There is apparently the ability to wake and unlock the screen by double tapping the glass, but I am not sure how to activate it ?

Does anyone know it the botom flap covering the usb port can be removed and put back if requires.
I use that port alot during development and wouldn't want the flap there.

Apparently according to a thread on XDA they all do it and it's normal. Apparently the S3 and S4 did it, though I've owned at least 2 of both and my wife and staff all own them and I've never heard of it. I don't like it at all.

That's the price to pay for having a camera with a fast auto focus. It will move around when the camera is inactive. My htc did it and even after 2 years no harm came from it.

To answer my own question.

I bought one and with the cover off you can easily remove a single screw and the flap pops out. It goes back in just as easily.

I prefer not having the hassle of the flap and don't need it to be waterproof. it looks virtually no different to the S4 without it.

I would just leave it on, After all it could save you if you accidently drop your phone in water
