Nah, unfortunately the extra 5% off doesn't apply to mobiles. Tried it at checkout.

they really should state that, because it doesn't say it excludes mobiles, unless this is a prepaid?

Anyone know if any of the Snapdragon models will support all the NZ LTE bands?

I'd much prefer the Snapdragon 805 model for the future dev support and mkbhd's latest review on the Exynos ver of the Note 4 seems to suggest the battery life is significantly worse than the Snapdragon model.
I'd ideally forgo a few points on a benchmark for much better battery life and futureproofing for custom roms.

Me too.

I most certainly will be going for Snapdragon model, the Exynos is a PITA for devs.

Rappelle: I've been following the Nexus 6 very closely, but recently the note 4 has caught my eye. Apart from the fact that the N6 hasn't technically been revealed yet, why do you think I should get a Note 4 over the Nexus 6?
How long do you expect the Note 4 to take to get the update to Android L? As the release is Friday, should I expect to be able to go in to a vodafone/spark store in Wellington to try one out?

Edit: I am looking to upgrade from my Nexus 5 :)

The screen in two respects, it is AMOLED and going by displaymate tests it will be the benchmark for quite some time and the Wacom touch sensor, it is on par with Wacom tablets now. Two tangible things that I doubt any other company will get close to and I believe since no matter what you do with your smartphone it will be the screen you are looking at so that has to be the thing that is the best it can be.

I am in the same boat.

I have a nexus 5 and looking at either the nexus 6 or the note 4.

For me the benefits are:
Camera - note 4 has a great camera and the nexus devices typically have a pretty average one. time will tell if the nexus 6 bucks the trend.
Battery Life - The note series have great battery life - my old Note 2 was a monster - but with project Volta and new L battery saving feature and the rumoured huge battery of the nexus 6 Samsungs power saving features might not win the day
Pen - as much as i rarely used the pen on my note 2 - its really nice to have it for certain situations like taking notes in work or delicate operations with image editing that require precision.
SD Card - an extra 128 gigs of storage (officially 64 but 128 works) for me is phenomenal - i have a 2 hour round trip commute and extra space for movies, tv, music and audiobooks is huge.
Replaceable battery - should extend the life of the device and a spare on a long trip is really useful
IR blaster - its a small benefit but a nice to have to control your TV from your phone

Drawbacks for me are:
AMOLED - I have always preferred the more natural colours on IPS displays. A pentile screen at that size at 1080p looks pixelated (Note 3) whereas the iphone 6+ 1080p display looks great - so Samsung had to go Quad HD with pentile in order to match or beat the iPhone - but this also means Battery life at high brightness is gonna be seriously compromised. It almost made me go LG G3 but it has its own battery, skin and overheating issues.
Touchwhiz - it looks loads better but it's still a bit dated and id much prefer the clean look of Android L - if only there was a Google version of the note 4 with downloadable Samsung Camera etc apps.
Updates - Samsung has burned me a couple of times with updates and As soon as the S6 and Note 5 come out i'm sure they will drop the Note 4 like a hot potato too.
Knox - if you root the device you could void your warranty. the ironic thing is if it wasnt for laggy touchwhiz rooting it wouldnt be as appealing.
Price - The nexus 6 is likely to be about half the price - and ultimately the note 4 is not twice the phone... so the nexus is definitely better value for money - but then so is a toyota corolla vs a BMW 6 series.
Cheap feel - Samsung devices have always felt a bit plastic and cheap - the note 2 and 3 felt like a toy compared to my nexus 5 - i still have concerns about the back and the faux leather so will be interesting to see it in the flesh
