Mallas: I've never batted an eye towards any of the previous Samsung S phones barring the old S2, simply because of the touchwiz interface myself.

The s6 has really cleaned itself up, and having used it for a day I can say so far that I'm really enjoying the new features of the phone.

One thing that I've noticed though, is that using the Fleksy keyboard, I have to be careful how I hold the phone as if my hand comes in contact with the rounded edges near the keyboard it really messes with what I'm typing!

So you are holding it wrong!!!! :P

Damager:
KiwiNZ: Happened to be in JB HiFi today and had a look at these devices, not bad, the Edge would be ahead but I still not a fan of Samsung devices.

Why not ? Tried most of the top end phones when they're released and always happy with Samsung.

Love the hardware. Hate Touchwiz.

Who ever made the S6 Spark ad where the guy gets a nasty Tic after buying the S6, should be f@#$ed and burned on the Town Hall steps.

Played with both models today, nice phone. The Edge certainly makes quite an impression. I think if the green was available I'd have caved and purchased it.

its a pity they reverted back to the usb 2.0 for the micro usb connection though. Cannot see why they would do this.

I agree its like they are keeping all that for another version.

I had a play with both this weekend, the S6 was nice lookng but I couldn't care less about that its the loss of the USB 3.0, no ext SD card or changeable battery, I am a sammie fanboy as used to the ecosystem but its a big change for me. The Edge looks good as well and the curved edges do look and feel ok but that my also be the gimmickry so aprt from that I'm not convinced I want to upgrade so may wait a month or so and see what problems come out, if any.

Looks like LG will scoop up some of us SD slot diehards with the G4, press release for its announcement leaked today. Looking quite nice actually, although I hope it's the S808 rumoured, rather than the S810.

I know what you are saying about the lack of sd and changeable and I thought that as well , My plan had only a few days left so decided to take the jump from my S4 up to this.

I have had it only 2 days but really do like it , I notice there is no entry level of 16gb any more and this would be to try to help out with the no sd I would say.

For me 32gb is enough for what I use it for , I just love the gold platinum and it makes it look very up market.

I am happy with the change and was seriously considering jumping to the iPhone but after using my GS6 i am very happy I did not.

I did have a look at the edge and although it looked gorgeous I thought the edge part of it was a bit gimmicky and not worth the extra $$.

For those who are lucky enough to have bought the S6/S6 Edge, does it still have the annoying increasing ring on its ringtones? I've always had to root & flash mods to get rid of it on previous generation Galaxy S's and was hoping I won't have to this time round.

On a slightly different topic, wife has agreed to let me get the S6 Edge (yay!) but only the in green hue, problem with that is it's not yet available worldwide, anyone have any idea when it might be?

Green edge & blue flat are at least a couple of months away.

Just reading first 24 hours battery life S6 Edge and it doesn't seem that bad especially the use it was given, based on that usage it would last the same as my S5 does now.

Thanks Nik, just to clarify, is this through Voda here in NZ or worldwide in general?

That's for all telcos in NZ. Can't speak for global as I don't have any visibility there, but I expect most countries will be in the same boat.

Thanks for clarifying.

It's not as long as I thought it'd take so not too bad at all.

Any idea where in Auckland I can get a 64 gb S6 to purchase outright. The only place that has them for purchase (not on a plan) is Dick Smith Albany but they only have the 32 gb model. I have been calling around for two days! If anyone has any idea let me know!
