timmmay: Do Android phones that haven't been reset for a few years work faster / better after reset? I'm considering doing that with my pixel 4a, to tide me over until I get a Pixel 8 or similar.

If your phone is sluggish yea it's worth a try! make sure you've got a recent backup in the google settings and then let 'er rip.

I am only not fussed on it right Now as it was only a couple of months since I had to because I made a Very stupid mistake - changed my unlock pattern before going to bed. Woke up and couldn't remember it.

I go back on what I said about the beta.
It's pretty rough, in going back to stable.

PSA: If you get the April 2023 Security update and find immediately afterwards you've lost LTE don't panic. Reboot your phone again, and it should self-resolve.

Phew!

I have been on the beta 3 months since I got the phone new. It was the first thing I set up. Never noticed any bugs, except of course, the fingerprint being useless.

I learnt early on (with my 6 Pro) that the glass screen protectors were really bad for the fingerprint sensor.

TPU ones seem fine.

hey, noticed today after installing the april update yesterday that my network would randomly disconnect during the day and i would get the explanation mark next to my cell signal on notification tray, sometimes if fixes itself quick, other times requires a reboot.

also seen this reddit thread pop up about the same problem.

Pixel 7 constantly losing network connectivity : GooglePixel (reddit.com)

so keen to know if others who have installed the march or april update have experienced this.

Cheers

After reading through the reddit thread I found if you set network to 4g and take off 5g/auto that it fixes it. Tried this new setting yesterday and seemed to fix it.

Hey there, had my Pixel 7 about a week now and just learning my way around it.

This morning it reminded me that Winnie the Pooh Blood and Honey is out in NZ today (I'm not sure how it got the idea I'd be interested in that to be honest lol). The other day it had a much more useful reminder that I didn't set and now I'm wondering how I can customize this or view in advance reminders it has set for me?

Thanks in advance.

If you use the chrome browser or any/many google services it should/would learn what you're interested in and such - and recommendation things should/will get better. From memory there is also a "training" thing in the Assistant (or Google) app and you can tell it what subjects/media you're interested in getting recommendations for.
