timmmay: Why are people using screen protectors? I don't think I've ever damaged a phone screen.

Good for you, but if you are spending $2k on a mobile, spending $50 for less chance of breaking the screen is a no brainer.

I used to use screen protectors back in the day of the S4, I found they made the screen less responsive so I stopped using them. I've just managed to not scratch or damage my screen since then. Of course having said that I will damage my pixel 8 screen within minutes of receiving it... just like I did with my latest Kindle.

Anyone got suggestions on Pixel 8 Pro cases? Was looking at the Spigen ones on Amazon AU, however given the number of fake Spigen cases being sold in other places and that they are also 3rd party sellers, I figured I might give those ones a miss.

Update: Upon further investigation, I think the PROgadgets ones might be legit though(mixed feedback from customers online about legitimacy), they say they represent Spigen in Aussie

My Spigen liquid air case purchased directly from Pro Gadgets arrived today. It looks genuine to me. Their shipping estimate was 2-3 days, it took nine days, not a problem but not a very good estimate.

Thanks Timmmay good to know - I ended up getting some trash generic case because I felt like I really needed one ASAP and the delivery dates were showing me November for the Spigen ones from PROgadget

Anyone have any good recommendation for a case?

I've always thought of the Otterbox Defender, paranoid of damaging my P8P as soon as I get it, but have found that the elastic material deforms over time...

Mous seems to be a good alternative, as well as the highly promoted Dbrand. What do you all think?

Personally i'll probably pick this up later with the triple black skin https://dbrand.com/shop/grip/google-pixel-8-pro-cases

This https://www.otterbox.com/en-us/rugged-pixel-8-pro-case-black/77-94220.html does seem kinda nice (but bulky obviously)

I have a spigen liquid air case waiting for my P8, which will arrive on Thursday. Case seems good, grippy enough. I've had Spigen for all my phones, usually do rugged armour but didn't like the look for the P8.

My only slight concern is that while there are raised edges around the camera bar, it's still fully exposed. There's a few other cases ie the Spigen Liquid Air which only exposes the camera lenses, flash and thermometer.

I normally use camera protectors . So it is not an issue for me :).

I also ordered original google case in bay color. Got a good deal from Amazon AU.

Many of the Spigen cases are good at keeping lenses and screen slight recessed to protect them. I think the liquid air does - ask me in a day or two.

Camera protector is that like a screen protector or a privacy shutter?

Just plain tempered glass protectors. sometimes, there are aluminium ones with gaps only for cameras. I also got a couple of case just arrived with only camera cut out. Not sure I will use them or sell them :)
