NZtechfreak: Don't get me wrong, up to 720p flash is great, and even at 720p its very smooth with just the occasional hitch. Its just that coming from the SGSII which can playback 1080p flash in the browser like its on your desktop its marginally disappointing (since even with the MHL cable it can't output the flash video at that resolution it is of course a bit academic).
Android OS has actually never been that good at video, or at least it hasn't been if you exclude Samsung devices (and to a lesser extent LG devices, HTC has only just started recently to increase codec support to include stuff like divx).

NZtechfreak: OK, getting to grips with the Sensation (been Tweeting up a storm, hard to resist making adding a hash tag to that "Sensation"!).
My MHL cables both work (go standard connections).
WiiMotes don't work, didn't expect them to.
BT keyboard works, BT Mouse pairs, but not properly supported.
Phonejoy works (tried out with Mario kart 64 in N64oid, awesomesauce!).
Video playback proving problematic with most of my test files (wide variety of codecs/bitrates/resolutions/audio encoding types), even with Diceplayer, Moboplayer, Rockplayer. Bit disappointing, since it kinda makes the MHL-out less useful. Doesn play 1080p MP4 well though, and Diceplayer can handle some of the MKVs (even the one with DTS sound and a 9500kbps bitrate).
Already had one out of memory warning.
Browser is lovely with the screen resolution, but quite a bit slower than SGSII, and handles flash much worse too. Love the dynamic reflow though!
Sound quality for music is better based on my limited playback so far (via line out to the car stereo).
Tasker more compatible than with my SGSII, although still can't handle picking up calls (not the fault of either phone, its a Gingerbread thing).

NZtechfreak: It does better with 720p, but if watching it for video is very important then you want an SGSII, rather than a Sensation.
I have two MHL adapters, one is a prototype from the MHL consortium, the other is an official Samsung one. They both work the same (strangely they both glitch in the app drawer and homescreens, but nowhere else, I'm wondering if HTC have increased the framerate for UI elements and its a refresh rate thing - perfect elsewhere like in-app and stuff).
They are in very short supply at the moment, but can be purchased from UK online tech stores like Clove/mobilefun/handtec etc. Given the SGSII has been out on Vodafone NZ a little while they should be available here soon, perhaps even the official HTC ones (but at present I've not seen those anywhere, they should be no different regardless, since its a connection standard).
They cost in the order of 14-20 pounds.

nakedmolerat:NzBeagle:old3eyes: Well that's debatable. I have had several 850/2100 fones on both Vodafone and 2D 3G with no problems. The only time I ever had an issue was out of the back end of Auckland where even GSM coverage was a no show as well..
As I said, Nationwide 3G :)
there is no point using smartphone if you cant have good 3G coverage!

lokhor: That makes little sense, it's like buying a car so you can listen to the radio.
