Yeah we use them at work for forecasting, doing our NRL picks, and the weekend weather.

Will there be big discounts like at the i4s launch that is the question!!

I'm pretty certain it will be exactly the same as the SGSII launch; $1199 full-price as John has speculated, with big savings on the handset by way of contract lock-in; because all 3 mobile providers are selling the phone, they'll each be prepared to lose money on the handset to get your signature and keep their competitors away for another 12/24 months.

The 'II' was $1199 when it launched, but I got it for $799 on a Smart 2 plan, plus got another $50 off by way of an in-store voucher for JB Hifi.

I'm not sure, since then prices of handsets have dropped as the value of our dollar rose. I think they will definitely want to compete with the One X and the iPhone 4S so the price can't be too far above either of those. Either way importing via Clove may be a better option.

Otherwise most people will just buy from parallel importers, or Clove. I know I probably will, since their updates actually come out 6-12 months ahead of ours, for the unlocked XEE/XEU european phones

Yeah, I completely agree with both you and Lokhor in principle, but I don't think for a second that VF or Telecom (reserving judgement regarding 2D) will see it that way. I think the notion of spending around $1000 on a device you can't go down to the shop and pick up is still a bridge too far for most people, let alone the notion of it even working on our networks.

Working on the GSIII retail TVC's next week for Vodafone. Which means the pricing plans will not be too far away from being public knowledge.

I'd agree with a couple of the other posts, I'm guessing a $1200 handset only price.

with the apple phones the price has come down every year with the release of new model. The 3gs was 1149 the iPhone 4 was 1099 and the 4s is 1049. with samsung its the other way when Galaxy s came out it was 999 s2 was 1199 i hope the S3 reverses the trend. Another thing I find strange with NZ operators is the tendency to keep things secret for some strange reason. The operators around the world who are launching the phone have also announced their pricing plans etc for e.g.. operators in UK.

Handtec still seem to be the cheapest at 416.49 pounds. But adding customs charges, GST and shipping, you're looking at around $1075NZD.

Better off just buying it off contract in NZ when available.

Or be one of the lucky 1/3 people who seem to get it without GST, and pay about $900

It's only happened to me once though, so I think my luck has run out

well if you look at how the Sensation was around same price as S2 then fell away rapidly and also given the HOX is currently priced cheaper than S3 at Clove why would it be any different here. I would think 1200 would be right until it settles down and see no reason for it to be the same as or cheaper than HOX.

If a B/M store doesn't have something i want, i go online and another company gets my money. I don't ask at the counter, i don't get them to order anything. If i can't see it on the shelf then no dice. I spend a lot of money and a lot of stores where i live have lost a lot from me by not stocking what i want.
So looks like Clove might be it for me. And as another poster said, european phones get their updates earlier which is a plus.
