fahrenheit: I bought a $13 vent mount from a trademe seller. After I cut down the sides so that they were flush with the phone's screen, it was perfect. I can run my finger across the screen without obstruction (a problem with most generic holders as they are designed to hold devices of all shapes and sizes).
It also has the added bonus of being in the direct path of the aircondtioning on those especially hot days.
HTPC / Home automation (home assistant) enthusiast.
kiwijunglist:
will be interested how it goes in winter
muzzholt: @ Edge - I used kies registry patcher 1.6.0.0.
Just select TNZ (telecom nz) from the drop down box and proceed with the patch.
It appears to me that for some reson kies doesn't recognise the phone as being from nz and the patch fixes that problem. As mentioned earlier the version of froyo offered for upgrade after this in kies is the genuine telecom nz version with telecom splash screen and all the APN data loaded etc.
Good luck.
meeekael: Cool, got one. How do I make it vibrate when you receive texts? It makes one useless half pulse at the moment but thats it. Thats after going into messaging and enabling vibrate.
Never mind, just increased notification volume and put it on silent. winar.

Welcome to the Samsung Unpaid Cellphone Sorters® (SUCS), New Zealand Division. You will know far more about mobile phones than you ever believed possible and more than you really want to know, in only a few short weeks.
Enjoy the reading, head-scratching and tweaking that accompanies your purchase.
Experience the joys of successful hacks.
And the devastation of unsuccessful ROM upgrades.
Your family will believe you've forgotten them, but in the end, you'll have what will arguably be the very best smartphone there is.
On behalf of the SUCS® (NZD), I hope you'll enjoy your stay, and don't be afraid to ask questions. Between the members of this community, we have left no stone unturned in our endless quest to alternately debilitate, and subsequently recover, our SGSes.
