Has anyone seen this review of the Samsung Galaxy S I9000?

http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i9000_galaxy_s-review-478.php

It's pretty impressive with a 4" Super AMOLED and only 385GBP from Clove

I've seen that review, pre-ordered mine from Clove 10 days ago or so (they have confirmed mine will ship from the first shipment of stock they receive, hopefully early next week).

Will of course post up a review, as I usually do on receipt of a new handset. Will be interesting to compare and contrast it to my current HTC Desire, and the X10 I already sold (and if people are keen with the HD2 I had before).

I have just seen a story on Engadget that says "Samsung Galaxy S I9000 Set for Simultaneous Launch in 110 Countries, Probably This Month". (June 1st 10.56 am)

Story is:

"According to the Korea IT Times, Samsung will be taking quite an unusual route with the launch of its upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S, by releasing it simultaneously in 110 countries around the world. Sure, it seems as much a publicity stunt as anything else, but this move indicates both a confidence in Super AMOLED supplies and, more importantly, a rapidly approaching date for the Galaxy S' retail availability. We already knew that it'll be arriving in Asia this month, so assuming this global debut is working to the same schedule, most developed countries will get their taste of Samsung's latest before the first half of the year is through. Neat, then we can pit one of these against an iPhone 4G and figure out which has the more gorgeous display."

Wonder if this means non-parallel availablity in NZ?

Have been craving one of these for some time after seeing the gsmarena review mentioned in the OP. Seriously cool phone - only the Android 2.2 HTC Evo 4G (being released in US on 4 June) might be better but not sure if it would work here.

looks interesting.

but "Quad-band GSM and tri-band 3G support" nice but again
"The I9000 Galaxy S covers its connectivity bases alright ? worldwide roaming ready quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and dual-band HSPA with download rates of up to 7.2 Mbps and upload at 5.76 Mbps."

It's gone from a 3 band 3G to a 2 band 3G in the review.. So what are the 3G bands??

Yeah I hate the copy-paste things that people put into reviews like that :)

It's confirmed as:
900/1900/2100

@nztechfreak:
"Unfortunately, we have heard from Samsung this afternoon that the release of the Galaxy S I9000 has now been delayed until the week commencing 14th June. This information has come direct from Samsung and the delay is beyond our control. We will do our best to ship all orders ASAP"

I've been tracking this phone ever since it hit the rumour list at GSMarena months ago.

If ever there was an iPhone killer (as such) this would be it.

It ticks every single box there is.

Obviously not the end of the world, but no camera flash is a bit odd isn't it?

A flash is becoming less common on smartphones, as sensors are getting larger. Also LED "flashes" are being proven to be pretty much useless anyway.

Yeah, don't miss it on my Spica at all :) all my pictures off my old one with dual xenon were just people being blinded, my cats being blinded or people glowing with a haze of slightly blue light

I've been hanging out for more information / pricing on the Samsung "Halo" i8520....with a pico projector.

Looks like it is close to release. Trying to work out if the i9000 is better or not, though the pico projector is what really caught my eye.
