That's interesting Freitasm my wife's download took only 20 minutes maybe then the normal install time, no dramas this side.  I'm assuming this is on WiFi for the download.

Yes but I'm on gigabit fibre at home at speeds are usually really. Good. As I said the Nokia update to Android 8.1 took only a few minutes.

If its still fluffing about, I think I would reboot the phone and try again, just seems weird behavior.

I got to 55% after leaving phone updating over night.  Thought I'd see if it was any faster on mobile, and it was until it used up all my data.  It then complained that the update was interrupted, and reset itself to 0%.  So, back to wifi.  My connection is 2degrees fibre, mobile was spark.

@cebo Interesting, I'm on 2degrees fibre as well.

Let me ask you a question: are you seeing problems when loading images on Twitter by any chance as reported here?

Anyone replaced a screen on one of these? how much did it cost? who did it for you?

dropped mine at work and of course it landed on the corner of the glass and has cracked the glass. screen is still fine.

How long have you had it? Huawei offer 12 months free screen replacement for the Mate 9 if purchased NZ new.

Unfortunately the phone is now 16 months old so that's out of the question

I believe that these guys are the official repairer for Huawei in New Zealand so this price is probably the worst case scenario. Be careful though if someone offers to replace only the glass. Since the digitizer and glass are fused together your touch sensitivity can go down the toilet if someone tries to glue the two parts together again. I know some less reputable stores have been known to do this.

I’ve had the screen replaced twice on my Mate 8, both times by Fonefix, and both times it went without a hitch. The first time was under warranty, as it was a screen fault (bright patches on the screen), but the second was when I dropped it. I still elected to to use the official repairer to ensure it continued to be covered under the extended warranty - worth it as this latest screen has ended up with the same bright patches, so it needs to go back again (NL’s said they will insist on trying to fix it twice before replacing/refunding). I found there wasn’t a huge saving to be had between the official and other repairers...
