Can't wait to hear how you get on.  Hopefully your delivery won't be affected by weekends and public holidays like mine has been (understandable :))  In saying that, I don't really know where mine is but it's only coming from Oz so it can't be too far away......

None, the Dick Smith price includes GST. I was worried about this too but the final price given on the site is GST inclusive (it is shown specifically), and I received mine with no issue.

Awesome handset, really happy with with it!

Last time this came up this link was pointed out to people which is the main reason I've never bought an item close to $400 from them.  NZ GST

Yeah they really should update that so it is clearer. Check out this link: https://www.dicksmith.co.nz/dn/direct-import/

Products tagged as 'direct import' include all relevant taxes and the final price is the price shown. Why that info isn't in the FAQ area I have no idea.

You should also be able to tell when the order summary shows GST as being collected. As far as I understand they can't do that if customs are going to collect it.

I'm picking up my 2 xl from JB in Australia this weekend. Can't wait! Are there any cases you guys are currently using and where did you order it from?

I ordered 3 via Amazon. They have lots of good cases. My favourite is the Ringke Fusion.

That's the route I would have preferred to go but have no trips to Oz planned.  You can check stock of individual stores or use "buy and pick up from store."

As for cases I ordered 3 from AliExpress.  Only because I have no idea of the size of the phone in my hand and wanted to try out multiple types (for not much money ;)) Once I decide on the type I'll get a better quality one (<$8 for 3 cases doesn't buy quality! 😂)

Thanx for the clarification.  I'm rather envious of your new Pixel.  Enjoy it  :-)

Saw a black Pixel 2 in the flesh these holidays. Despite the bezels, it was a very looking nice phone, much better than I expected.

Just got my panda pixel 2xl. I have to say this thing is lightening fast! I don't notice any of the screen issues yet but I don't have such an eye for detail. If you have any questions I can answer. Happy with the purchase.

Got my Black Pixel 2 XL from Dick Smith a couple of days ago now.  Initial thoughts:

1) Fast! Sure, it's against my 2.5 year old Galaxy S6 Edge but even so.....

2) The screen has a definite, and strong, blue shift off axis.  In saying that, the only time I've noticed it was during initial set up and data transfer when it was sitting in a desk and it was being viewed from an oblique angle.  Day to day not a problem.

3) Google Assistant is super handy :)  Hilariously saying "Hey Google, play some music from Queen" with my phone on the bench and having it start playing on the stereo via my Bose attachment amazed people..... thinking about Google Home now.....

4) "Now Playing" is very cool (but slightly creepy ;)) I was in a noisy(ish) bar/restaurant and was discussing when a song that was playing had been released.  Took my phone out of my pocket - song was already displayed - unlock - click on song and all the details came up!

5) It's a good size in my hand.  Just right.

I think that's it for now.
