ArtooDetoo:
mckenndk: Its Froyo all right

The menus are alot more colourful but the Data icon at the top has gone grey instead of blue.

Dion

That's the standard colour now, so all good. Smile

Cheers,
R2D2

If you want more colour, have a look at some of the themes on the XDA forums.  Or you could learn to create your own theme :-)

Has anyone with a Vodafone SGS had the Froyo update?  I've only heard of people on Telecom getting it.  And I still don't think Australia (Optus) has it yet.

Hmmm, didn't see it.  Searched the page, didn't see it.  Mind you, I'm shattered.  Probably there as clear as the nose on my face.

Ahh yes. Sometimes a search isn't all it's cracked up to be when a conversation is broken up. Cheers

Welcome home, and how was the run? (Not that I could identify in any material sense...)

:-)

Cheers,

Galaxy S has gone to its new owner. HTC Sensation has gone to its new
owner. Galaxy S3 has gone to its new owner. Now using Galaxy Note 3. Skipping Note 4 I think...

Early night for you Miss!! ;-)

Have learned my lesson from the last upgrade attempt, so will not be starting anything at 10:30pm.

Will definitely downgrade to JM8 first, and then back up to 2.2

Just out of interest, does anyone know how 'new' the JP3/JP2/JP3 build is?

nofam: Yup, definitely available on Kies (my SGS is from Noel Leeming):

PDA - JP3
Phone - JP2
CSC - JP3

About bloody time!!

Laughing

About to take the plunge. If I'm off the air for a few days, you'll know it didn't go as well as I'd hoped.

Laughing

Cheers,

Best of luck to you - will be watching eagerly to see how it goes; are you going to flash back to 2.1 as recommended?

Stupidly, perhaps, I'm not. I have spoofed my SGS as a stock Eclair VNZ device though, so it'll be interesting to see if that does the same job. Or karks the poor wee blighter altogether.

As us pilots say, it may be 'fascinating'. Laughing

Here goes...

Cheers.

5 minutes in and 60% of the download completed...

8 minutes in and android workman graphic on phone with "Do not turn off Target!!!" message...

9 minutes in and phone is re-booting...

12.5 minutes and at the tutorial wizard...

And I'm looking at a home screen with very few icons. Dang. A bit of re-installing to do, but before that I'll scope what changes other than that I see.
