robfish: The battery is awesome too. I unplugged mine yesterday before work. Tonight it still had 35% left.
Good point! Took mine off the charger at 2pm yesterday. Went away for the night and left it on all night. Used it a bit for photos, mucking about, spotify etc. - at 17% at 9pm tonight. My S6E would be on 65% by the time I got to work in the morning! :)
Absolutely. Once it was in NZ it wasn't too bad but I've seen better.....
Oh, and the charger that DS provide doesn't seem to charge the phone. Says it is but the battery level doesn't increase. Others do so the cable is fine.....
Luckily pliers and the US charger in the box works fine ??

Just wondering what type of cases and screen protectors you guys have/recommend? I'd like to have a case that's slim (mainly protect from scratches as I don't plan to drop it) and possibly see-through (so I can admire the B&W design.
So started to use my Pixel 2XL on Friday, and by Monday I found a dead pixel in the middle of the screen. Had to get it swapped for a new one. Here's hoping that was the end of all the problems with the phone

hopefully you dont run into problems since youshop has restrictions regarding lithium ion batteries

I'm quite surprised it worked for me too, I tried a few different ways (setting up a US Google account, registered it with my YouShop address) and the website kept throwing up an error when I entered my card details. But when it did work I was using a US VPN.

So Customs have my precious Pixel!!!
It seems the whole duty, customs and GST process has changed since last time I got something sent by YouShop. Apparently as of 01/12/17 there was a change abs Customs no longer deal directly with personal shippers and it's all through a Customs Broker
I got an email from NZ Post advising the shipment is on hold at customs (normal.)
But I have to engage a Customs Broker to arrange for me, either with NZ Post or another Broker. They'll liaise with Customs, find out the costs of import (dirty, fees, broker fees etc) and then invoice me. Once paid, NZ Post will instruct Customs to clear and send.
Below is part of the email I got, knew this was a risk. Hope the costs don't come back to bite me!!!
Either – let NZ Post arrange the clearance of your parcel(s) for you. Our fee for this service is $46.00 incl. GST. A NZ Customs Import Entry Transaction Fee of NZ$49.24 (incl.GST) and any Import Duty and GST payable are in addition to this charge. To facilitate this for you we will require a detailed invoice. Please contact the NZ Post Customs Brokers Team on 0800 SENDIT (0800 736 348) email send.it@nzpost.co.nz and we can arrange the clearance for you.
• Or - Contact another Customs Broker and they will undertake the clearance for your parcel(s); try Google or www.yellow.co.nz and search for 'Customs Broker' in your area.
Seriously loving the battery life on the XL. Charged it during lunch yesterday and this morning it's at 50% with 4hr 17m screen time (web browsing, youtube).
Admittedly I'm coming from a two year old Nexus 6P which would lose a percent every couple of minutes doing the same activities, but I don't think that phone was nearly this good even when it was fresh out of the box.
Totally satisfied with my purchase. The off-axis blue shift is certainly there (and a bit disappointing given the price of the phone) but I can't say I notice it during normal use.
Finally got my 2XL yesterday and omg this thing is seriously fast! Coming from a Nexus 6, this is the phone Google should've made years ago to showcase Android!
The blue tint is there when you first boot up, but after the 8.1 update you turn on the satured colours it's not very noticeable anymore
The package was held up in customs for about 3 weeks. That was an ordeal and a very inefficient process getting NZ Post to act as a "customs broker" and it often took a day or 2 to get responses from them.
I also had to apply for this special import code with NZ Customs and Border because the value was over $1000.
