Ever since I got the update last night to Sense 6 (i am liking the new interface), i have been getting a message that says "Unable to connect to the server. Please try again later" on my screen. I am not sure which app is causing this or if it is the system thats causing it. Has anyone got this error?

Thanks

All OK here (Telecom).

I have a Vodafone NZ handset and got the update last night. Also updated my wife's phone. It is all pretty slick. I like that you can change the Theme as the default green is a bit ugly. Just go to Personalize then Theme to change it.

On mine, the mail app started throwing errors (because I only use the gmail app, but had left an old account with an incorrect password in the HTC mail app from when I first tried it). It could be that for you too perhaps, although the error message does sound different.

Maybe try Settings->Apps->Running, and see if you recognise anything there that could be trying to connect to something. Then try disabling non-essential stuff until you find it.

My fave thing so far is the camera interface. Much easier to navigate the menus in my opinion. Extreme Power Saving mode also looks promising for those times that I forget to charge my phone. I already find the standard Power Saver option quite handy when that happens.

And lastly, is it just me, or is there a bunch more space on the 'desktop' where it shows the 'page dots' as you swipe left and right. It feels cavernous to me, and almost enough room to add an extra row of icons. I would rather have the extra icons to be honest.

Yeah, that was the first thing I changed as well lol.
Have you noticed on yours that the keyboard highlighting is still in green, even after a theme change?

Also, don't forget to re-set your ringtones and alarms people. The alarm ringtone I had previously chosen was very mellow, but it appears to have disappeared during this update. It gave me a hell of a fright this morning when some jarring clanging tone started up at near full volume!

I use the standard Android keyboard instead of the HTC One, mainly due to accuracy of swipe functionality. You can change the colour of the swipe in keyboard settings though afaik.

My ringtones don't appear to have changed.

Yep, only a few got taken out from what I can tell. I was just unlucky enough to have chosen one that's no longer there.

Thanks for the suggestion. I had a look at the running apps, but none of them seemed to be the one that caused the issue. If anyone else comes across this issue, please let me know. I am quite sure it might be one of my apps - but it could also be blindfeed...

I've never had battery issues, either on my last or my current M7. I get 1 day of heavy usage or can stretch to 2-3 days of low to average use. It was worse when I had Nova launcher for what ever reason.

Sense 6 incoming as we speak.

Via Telecom. Didn't get a notification... Checked out of habit when flatmate exclaimed they were getting an update on their Xperia Z1.

Gave up on stock a week ago. Unlocked, rooted, custom recovery and loaded Venom Viperone ROM. Still tweaking away a week later. Titanium Backup, nandroid backup, fully operable tasker/trigger/secure settings, heaps of themes and no performance detriments that I have noticed.
Probably should have waited for the stock Sense 6 update first. Glad it has come through for NZ users though.

I was just going to put up with the purple tint, but seeing other users have a relatively hassle free time getting theirs sorted, i got in touch with HTC via their live chat. Ultimately, (but not surprisingly), i had to run through the usual phone off/on, etc, and now am at the point where he wants me to factory reset my phone. If that doesn't work (likely!), then i should send it to them. If i have everything backed up via the HTC cloud and Google, am i likely to lose much by factory resetting? Phone is stock in all other ways
