freitasm: Folks, I'm using the standard ROM. Is there any way to change the email app to show UNREAD counts (in both icon and folder listings) instead of total email count?

In the Apex launcher under advanced settings you can choose to have an unread item count. I'm sure other launchers offer similar functionality.

I haven't seen anywhere where you can do likewise inside the Gmail application though.

sqlpro: Hi guys
just wondering why many of you interested in Navigon? isn't it google maps already free and provides excellent navigation?

whats the special about this navigon ?

Google maps is pretty good but, IMO, Navigon is superior. Google maps has positioned me in the middle of Wellington harbour and has tried to take me the wrong way down one-way streets. Navigon, in the year I've been using it, has never steered me wrong yet. It's quick to update the route when you take a wrong turn, works offline, gives live traffic info, and works seamlessly with contacts addresses to quickly set destinations. When I'm travelling the feature for setting the home destination has saved a lot of time (go anywhere, tell it to take me home - cool). Navigon will also tell you when its time to change lanes, which is invaluable when driving in unfamiliar environments.

The list of functions in the Samsung Navigon are here: http://www.navigon.com/portal/au/produkte/navigationssoftware/navigon-mobile-navigator-android.html

For those who wanting navigon, pm me and I will send you my drop box link to download it.
Unless it is perfectly legal to post it here else I wouldn't do it.

I'm going to exploit the download. Testing time is started. I must get the 4.1.2  :)

In terms of charging habits any downsides to battery life if:

1) I charge from USB on my PC?
2) Charge turned on vs off?
3) Charge partially turned off, turned on, and use whilst chargin?

Charging via USB from a PC is generally a very slow process...but it helps to add a few extra hours if you're at a PC for a lot of the day and don't have access to a powered charger.

Before putting my hand up, is the method you used relatively straight forward? I'm happy to get it myself if that's more "legal". Otherwise will grab the apk file. Cheers

Edit: writing posts on the phone isn't always plain sailing. Fixed errors.

It is perfectly legal. I just got to changed my country to AUS in my Samsung account, got to do a long process of switching country using kies where it kept dying and crashing. But saving the trouble, simply put your hands up for the apk :) all backed up and ready to let it lose to whoever PM me.
I think it is far more easier for you to just get it off me as I already offering my efforts for your benefits.
