kyhwana2: Hmm, does anyone know of a .lit ebook reader for android? I have a bunch of .lit ebooks that I read on my TP, would be nice to read em on the Desire too..

... try aldiko or ireader ...

Aldiko supports the ePub format.

If you have non-DRMed books in the following formats: lit, pdf, mobi, rtf, txt, html, fb2, prc**, odt, cbr and cbz, you can use a free software called Calibre to convert any of the above formats to ePub and then import your books into Aldiko. You can get Calibre from here http://calibre.kovidgoyal.net/.

Have just found an application called 'AppAware' which helps with finding items in the market in regards to popularity and who's installing/updating/removing.  It doesn't replace the Market but is a helpful addition (so far).

Can even search by whoes installed/updated/removed in regards to your location.  Gimiky but helpful fun

nAnyone had trouble getting the back cover to clip on at the top? It sits proud a little bit really quite annoying.

Fits OK here at the top.

Is everyone here aware of Appbrain?

Its an desktop version of the Market in your browser, but it has a sync app that lets you choose items for install from your desktop, and then installs them when syncing with the Appbrain sync app on your phone... Very handy, also has view by rating/updated/new/latest/hot etc.

Its really weird, I took it off to put the sim card in, now it won't fit 100%. Quite disappointing really, taking the shine off it to be honest..

Can't really get a decent photo of it to show you.

Regards Swype I see some users are finding it drains battery, so keep an eye on that.

Have you guys seen this video of Froyo (Android 2.2) running Flash 10.1 in the browser? Its being demoed  on a Nexus One, so should look this good for us too... Wow, if HTC are slow with our update to 2.2 I think this will be the tipping point for me Rooting my Desire...

.... yeah your right ... does drain the battery but I'm typing faster than ever... might have to get another battery or power charger for car... I've used http://www.momax.net/en/Product_List.aspx?I=PP-1580-172-0 before and found them very good...

... also have hit my limit for apps and notification warned me of low storage.... I heard that android 2.2 allows apps to be installed onto SD card... do you have anymore news? ... I'm not quite ready to root the desire yet...

No more news about apps to SD officially (although a demo of Flash 10.1 running on a 2.2 Nexus is extremely tasty).

I haven't Rooted mine yet, but when I hit the apps limit it will become harder to ignore.

Cut n paste this from the handy apps thread in case I missed posting anything here:

SMSBackup is useful, automatically backs up your SMS to your GMail account.

CallTrack does some thing for call logs, but to your Google Calender.

For HTC Desire Beam Widget is great, simple widget for turning the camera flash on/off for use as a flashlight.

NewsRoom - great RSS reader.

Andoku Sudoku is the best Sudoku clone I've found so far.

GameBoid is awesome, full speed with sound emulator for GBA.

NY Times/Guardian apps for offline reading of those papers.

Droidkoban - excellent Sukoban clone (best available for Android).

Fring/Nimbuzz - IM aggregators

Google Sky Map

LastFM (if you don't know about lastfm Google it now and start enjoying life more!)

Tunewiki - media player with timed lyrics database

Jewels - great free Bejewelled clone.

gStrings/Mobile Metronome - tuner and metronome apps for the musically inclined (now I have a metronome, all I need is to scrape together the motivation to practice my scales!)

Shazam - free music ID program

Vignette - photo editor with lots of great effects (including some less known stuff like Tilt Shift photography, Google it, very cool)

GRemote Pro is nice, and as pretty as AirMouse.

I'll be interested in what you think of the Zagg.  I installed mine 2 days ago now and it's horrible to touch!
It might be the strongest/most protective screen protector, but god knows why they think it's a good idea to make it have grip!  it feels tacky/sticky to swipe your finger over it.  first impressions are not good, will wait for a couple of weeks and see if i get used to it, but so far NOT so good.
Anyone else have complaints about the feel of the Zagg?
