I hope everyone has read about the Note is the first phone to have envelope tracking - 20-30% battery savings on cell network use (runs cooler doing network heavy tasks like streaming video too). I hope envelope tracking lives up to what has been written about so far, the marginal battery upgrade was one of very few minor disappointments in the Note 3 announcement for me (the other being no OIS). I expect Snapdragon 800 battery savings + quick charge + Samsungs 2A charging will help a fair amount also.

Looks like an awesome evolution of the Note 2, Other than the moronic leather back to appease the anti-plastic ex apple users that'll last 30 seconds before its scraped and frayed.

In saying that, More and More often I'm beginning to miss my S3 over my Note 2, Although I love the LTE and the screen size comes in useful.

Any idea of a release date in NZ for this phone yet? Or would it be better to pre-order via clove?

Had a very good play with the Note 3 (and Z1) over the weekend.

Safe to say Samsung will have my money, very impressed.

Also did a camera comparison Z1/Note 3/S4/808 - pics here.

I've only been charged once for GST by customs out of 4-5 handsets.

It was something like $125 ... it was a while ago now so not too sure on the exact amount.

Actually don't Vodafone lock their low cost pre pay phones as well, although no one in this thread is in danger of buying one of those.

Correct, some of the cheaper feature phones available through Vodafone are now locked.
