YvonneW:

I had the same issue with my M2 and my husbands M3 phones. I downloaded the GMS installer from Hot Apps. This worked, giving access to the Play Store. Our Maps & Google Calendars worked fine. However on my husbands phone I have to repeat the process a few times since the Flyme update. He can't be bothered, just wants his phone to work. He is not impressed and won't use a Meizu again.

Does seem to have been a stupid idea from Meizu.

Thanx for that.  Will try it on her phone when I get home tonite.  This has put me off Meizu for ever.  Will go back to know brands with a good track record..

Regards,

Thanx for that. It worked fine after several reboots and a repair of Maps. Still strange that Meizu would do an upgrade like this.

Glad to have helped.

You may want to look at this thread http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=97&topicid=196846&page_no=13#1684174 It seems Meizu have issued an update to fix the Play Store problem. I don't know what to do with the Google Drive link they are talking about but I've asked and will give it a go!

I know nothing :-)
