Help please. Google play store will not open on my husbands phone. Just get a white screen or  "Error retrieving information from server. [RH-01]"

Have forced stop, cleared cache, taken off and re installed google account details.

What else can I do please? (My M2 works just fine.

Have you recently installed an update for the OS?

No, not that I am aware of. The Flyme is set to automatically update and says it is the latest version. Don't know when it last updated. Nothing on Google calendar either. Just seems to be the Google stuff. The M3 aslo has a Hot Apps option which my M2 doesn't. Is that an issue?

My wife's Meizu M3 Note had the same issue after the recent update.

Here's what I did to resolve it:

Download this:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3Dq0h6wc2t9TlJ3T1RxT0hTc2c

Go to Settings > About Phone > Storage > Backup and Restore then click Backup Now

After backup completes

Go to Files app and find the downloaded update.zip file

Click it and it will ask you to upgrade.

Make sure wipe app data is selected and then click update now. This will update and wipe all the apps / settings but will not delete anything from the internal memory or SD card.

After it completes go through the normal initial setup and then there should be a notification about hot apps and google installer. run the installer and it should reinstall Play Store and the issue will be resolved.

I did as you suggested above. I know have a screen with a Firmware corrupt message. Underneath is System upgrade, which is ticked, and says copy the update.zip to the root directory of your device.

Under that is Clear data, not ticked, The system settings and apps data will be cleared. Please backup your data.

My options are Restart or Retry. Which do I do please?

I decided to tick clear data and retry.

Phone re booted, I did not get a notification about hot apps and google installer. Play Store wont open. What else can I do?

Oh if you open the Hot Apps app and it says to update click ok but then go to the notification bar and click on the update download for it and then click delete. The newer Hot Apps does not allow you to do the google installer.

Is there a GMS Installer app in Hot Apps? If you can install that it should work, otherwise if there is something about installing google services run that.

The Google Services Installer is installed. When I uninstall Playstore it says "file corrupted" in Google Services. I select Fix and it installs Playstore. Phone reboots. Playstore doesn't open.

If I do a factory reset will this help? Getting fed up now but really appreciating your help.

Hmm I am not sure now. The update with wiping data should have fixed it.

You might have to take it back to the store for a replacement.

Tried again today and all working now. In Hot Apps the Google Services Installer was an old one. I Installed the GMSInstaller which has worked. Lets hope it stays like that! Such a pain but I guess Meizu / Flyme are trying to make an impression. Maybe we will stick with a an Android phone next time... or go to the dark side!

Thank you again for your help.

My wife's note 2 did an update to Flyme 5.1.11.0G  and is now complaining that half her apps won't run  or gives a " Google Play  Service not installed"  only the crappy Hot Apps. So where does she go now,  take the phone back to PB Tech as a warranty return??  Wonder how many they will get back  in the next few weeks??

had a quick look  for Google Play services and there are plenty of links but how genuine are they ..

Kind of amazed that Meizu who wants to be  a global player releases a global update that removes Google Play..

Regards,

I had the same issue with my M2 and my husbands M3 phones. I downloaded the GMS installer from Hot Apps. This worked, giving access to the Play Store. Our Maps & Google Calendars worked fine. However on my husbands phone I have to repeat the process a few times since the Flyme update. He can't be bothered, just wants his phone to work. He is not impressed and won't use a Meizu again.

Does seem to have been a stupid idea from Meizu.
