Brought the s20 FE last nite for just over $800 from TheMarket using 10% coupon.

 SM-G780FZBDXNZ

How is it? I am on the fence about it but I don't like that it's got Exynos, I'm on a Pixel 2 XL currently.

I see it's here also but the nicer Snapdragon 5G one $1,099.00: https://www.parallelimported.co.nz/samsung-g7810-galaxy-s20-fe-dual-sim-128gb-8gb-ram-cloud-navy-hd.html

Noel lemming (and Vodafone) has the phone half price if you sign up to the pay monthly plan with interest free contract. Currently the $80 plan is half price for three months, open term. They say that you can cancel phone plan and pay off remaining interest free after three months.

Wife loves phone. She moved from S7 plus and likes big screen and better camera.

Unsure if this should be in its own thread.

I was looking to buy the FE as I am eligible to purchase via the EPP store, but my son just found this one the other day and thinks it's better bang for buck at $560

https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/MPHSAM0651500/Samsung-Galaxy-M51-2020-Dual-SIM-Smartphone-8GB128

One of my requirements is to have a phone with a 3.5mm audio jack. I don't want to carry an adapter.

He says also has massive battery (but phone a bit bulkier) and better cameras.

Interested in any other thoughts on specs between the 2 phones.

Is A51 waterproof? One review says no. It's dearer than the s20 fe with inferior screen and processor. Still say s20 fe.

It's a M51 not a A51, but not waterproof either.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

No. The S20 FE is by far the better phone.

The only better thing about the M51 is headphone jack and probably slightly better battery life.

The S20 FE definitely has way better cameras than the M51, faster CPU + GPU, a better display (and refresh rate), better build (metal frame instead of plastic on the M51), waterproofing, wireless charge, faster storage.

There's probably more here but if you can afford the FE it's a much better phone

Thanks @pcman2000.

I just need to decided if the lack of a 3.5mm audio jack is a deal breaker. I often connect into audio systems with my phone and 3.5mm plugs are already part of the installs.

There are first party Type C - 3.5mm DAC adapters for $20.00. A way better option in my opinion.

Can some kind soul help me confirm that this phone here is compatible with NZ's 3G, 4G and 5G networks?

Seems like a great deal for a SD version!

That's a good deal. G781B is the same model as sold in Australia, and will support all NZ 4G and 5G networks.

I have to say, after buying my wife one of these, I am pretty disappointed in it. It feels sluggish, less responsive than her LG v40+ which she had before. Everything has a perceptible delay. Trying to decide if I factory reset it, though my wife has lots of finicky apps and she isn't super tolerant of the normal set up issues, so I want to avoid that if possible..

Wonder if it's the digitizer issues I've heard about. Samsung Galaxy S20 FE gets third fix for touchscreen problems (androidauthority.com)
