BreaKer: Got Note 3 on Saturday loving it so far, looking at getting tempered glass protector and case. lofreq- Do you think the 8h protector you got work with the Samsung Note 3 S View Cover? otherwise will just end up getting screen protector and no case :(

8H no problem - 9H will be too tall :)

I got this screen protector - http://dx.com/p/remax-9h-magic-glass-real-tempered-glass-protector-for-samsung-galaxy-note-3-n9000-258086 and its pretty awesome.

Came with a wet and a dry "towel" thing to clean it, and then just dropped onto the front - no issues with bubbles etc, feels almost as nice as the screen itself and so far no issues at all with the touchscreen, but I did have that extra sensitive option turned on before I put it on, have not turned it off to compare - without the extra sensitive option on (they say for gloves) I was finding it was often losing my finger when doing the unlock pattern.

Got a cheap bumper at the same time to protect the edges, not too concerned about the faux leather back since it is replacable.

Any idea how to check if 4G is active on my note 3? I have the 4G simcard and can make and receive calls,am based in central wellington but I am getting speedtest results of 2.06Mbps down 0.06 up which I thought would be higher.

Connection symbol shows as H+

H+ will change to 4G if you are on LTE.

yup, just tried it here at Telecom House with the 4G network that went live today, the H+ icon just changes to say 4G - no settings needed to be changed on the phone once the new sim was installed - H+ speed was about 20mbps down, 0.8up, compared to 4G 70mbps down 30mbps up. quite dramatic.

warning if you decide to do some speedtests to test speed - the speedtest app seems to use a much larger packet size, i think 115mb or something? we ran 3 speed tests after installing speedtest from scratch, and mobile data usage is up to 345mb just like that. dont know how accurate this is, just going off data usage by app as showing in the settings screen.

testing on HSPA 3G only seemed to use 25mb sized packets??

I'm in the same situation, dakie, Note 3 in central Wellington and still H+ rather than 4G. Called Telecom and they transferred me to three different people, then the last one disconnected me, called me back, and told me to pull out the battery and restart (didn't work).

I called Samsung about mine and apparently I have a Vodafone note 3 from vnz in the csc and I need to try a Vodafone sim to see if I get 4g.

FFS wasn't told I was buying a locked to Vodafone when I bought it.

Its not locked, its just optimized for vodafone, just like telecoms are optimized to telecoms

were you mailed out a 4G sim to replace your old sim?

anyway the service is only hours old - you could give it a chance :) there may be some towers that were not fully enabled to cover where you are at currently.
