I had to uninstall Google Earth cause I hit my limit soon after installing that. it's a whopping 21Mb! need apps to SD before i install that again! God knows why this wasn't part of android from the start.

Over 1/3 of my life is spent in front of my HP dx7 Quad Core 2.1GHz|4GB laptop.
A few hours a day in front of my HTC Desire.
My day job: I do asp.net web development for NetPotential.

I'll be interested in what you think of the Zagg. I installed mine 2 days ago now and it's horrible to touch!
It might be the strongest/most protective screen protector, but god knows why they think it's a good idea to make it have grip! it feels tacky/sticky to swipe your finger over it. first impressions are not good, will wait for a couple of weeks and see if i get used to it, but so far NOT so good.
Anyone else have complaints about the feel of the Zagg?

How is it when it comes to staining, relative to bare naked screen? Does it reduce screen reflection?

Not sure what you mean by staining? if your referring to colour change then it is clear and doesn't change anything there. if you are referring to anything to do with greesy finger smudges, it's no better than the naked screen - actually i would say the naked screen is better!
Reflection - doesn't reduce it (well much anyway) and it has a horrible 'orange peal' look to it when you test for reflection, but this isn't noticeable during use (only when you look for it when screen is off).
I wonder if the Phantom Skin would be any better?

That battery looks promising! No need to replace the rear cover with a bigger/thicker one either!! :)

Yes, I was referring to finger smudges. I have seen reviews about the "orange peel" effect but, like you said, I think most say it's not visible during use. A bit of a worry if smudges appear worse than naked screen though!

Most stuff on the web seem to agree that Phantom Skinz is a much better product. I think another geekzone user (pih?) would agree too. He got one for his N1, having used Zagg as well. We can only dream of a Phanton Skin for Desire at the moment!

well thats very poor, would be good to have the function to watch tv via it with a aerial but everything will go digital soon so put in a digital receiver

Theres already a 1600mA battery out there, I recall from a thread at Androidforums (or was it XDA?) that the 1600mA figure is something of a misnomer and the battery life is no different or worse...

Quick update on my Zagg experience:

First and foremost you just about need a clinical lab-grade clean room to install it! I am assuming from JellyWeb's avatar that he has a Labrador Retriever? See my avatar? That's a Bernese Mountain Dog - we live with 4 of those shaggy beasts, along with two cats. ARRRGHHHHHH!!! At first the install looked perfect since the device was turned off and the film still had a bit of fluid on it. When it dried and I turned the screen on there were a few very fine bits of fur!

Anyway, as far as the film itself is concerned I was actually fine with it. Maybe because of all the complaints I've read I was expected much worse! In the end I was perfectly happy using it. Well, except for the fluff under the film causing nasty diffractions. I have actually left the film off today, and will have another go tonight in one of our bedrooms the dogs have been kept out of.

In short, I'm happy enough with the film until I can physically test another product. The only warning I have is environmental - make sure you have a clean environment to install it!

Ha, yes, I do have a Lab and a cat. I thought I had a bit of fur under mine too, but when I took it off and tried to remove it i discovered it was a [minor] blemish on the film. wasn't too happy about that and I have complained to Zagg who have agreed to send a new one out. nice of them! I do have to mail my original one back though which will cost me another couple of bucks - arrrh!

Glad you are not unsatisfied with the feel of it, but just you wait till you try swipe your finger over it while it's in the car cradle :) - you finger will judder rather than slide! (or maybe i'm just too heavy handed)

Anyway, can you assure me that your product is a good feel, that my finger will glide over it, not judder over it cause of all the excess friction?
And why don't you have a HTC Desire template yet? Would love to try your
product, but don't want to be disappointed again.

Tim,

The Desire has not been released to US carriers yet, this is why we have not
designed a pattern. However since we have enough demand we are currently in
the process of getting the design. It should be available on our website
within the week.

I can absolutely assure you that our skinz are much smoother then zaggs. I
personally have a HTC MyTouch (which is all touch screen) and in my opinion
there is no difference in the feel of the actual screen and the feel of the
skin.

I will send you an email as soon as the pattern for the desire is released.

So, I might end up trying one of these when they release it in a week. will keep my Zagg on till then - maybe it will get less 'rubbery/sticky' in a week and I won't be moaning about it so much!

Yay! That's fantastic news Tim! I think you also get two skins in each Phantom Skinz pack. I will persist with my Zagg one till then. Besides, my fur-related problem will be present in any product, not just Zagg.

Anyone else get a small sim logo with a gear next to it? Been up there since I put in my vodafone contract sim, the logo isn't explained in the manual. It is blank when I bring the bar down too.
