langers1972: $469 at Warehouse Stationary now

I'm confuzed. I went in to my local WHS today and they had a sign up that said $399 with $150 bonus credit for the X5. I'm pretty sure this deal is not running anymore, but maybe it has been started up again?

Went in to DSE to check whether they had the $150 credit deal going but they didn't.

It looks like this $469 promo is only online then?

Woohoo... it's true.
The 2degrees "Top Up and Save" promotion is back on.
The latest Warehouse Stationary mailer has a nice big banner saying so.

I think it's time to dive in and get my first smartphone tomorrow.

Wait so do you have to pay $399 or $549?

All comments are my own opinion, and not that of my employer unless explicitly stated.

$549 with $150 of that as a top up. So the phone ends up being $399.

Took advantage of this promotion back in December/January, and it's great. Haven't needed to top up since.

You still have to pay $549 in total, but you get $150 worth of credit for nothing.
Seems like a pretty good deal to me.

I wonder if  you can use the $150 voucher as a credit on a Postpay account?

Regarding my X5 - I have it setup on my home wifi network, however when I leave the house and come back it never automatically connects to it again, and the signal should be strong as. I have to go back into settings and click on the wi-fi tab for it to "wake up" again.

Anyone have this problem or know of a remedy? The phone won't automatically connect to known w-fi networks.

This also happens on my ZTE Blade, and there is "an app for that" which apparently fixes the problem on many phones.  Do a search in the market for "Blade wifi fix".  Hope that helps

Thanks for that, I also read somewhere that an app called Y5 can fix it... Anyway, I turned off the wifi sleep function completely and it seem to be working properly now at home and work (touch wood!).

Yes, it's the sleep function. If set it automatically shuts wifi down when the phone goes to screensaver and it does seem a bit random as to if/when it wakes up again.

The latest mailer off the website makes no mention of this, where is the above from?

Don't forget that you can transfer some of the $150 onto another account using the Me2U service so great if you have friends/relatives on 2Degrees as you can share the love:

Took advantage of the $469 deal at tws (couldn't possibly use $150 worth of credit) to upgrade from an iPhone 2G, and the phone is really nice.

One problem though, I like to listen to podcasts or music while falling asleep, and the minimum volume is way too loud. After judicious googling, both 'max volume too low' and 'min volume too high' are fairly common complaints with android users, but there don't really seem to be any answers for the latter.

I ended up plugging in headphones and sitting them at a distance away to work as low volume speakers, but that's not really adequate.

Not sure if it's a hardware or software issue. I hope it's the latter and there is some solution, but it's not obvious.

Is there an expiry limit on the topup credit?

$150 would take me all year to use. Vodafone had a similar thing with $200 credit, but it had to be used in 3 months, which means its no good for me
