The alphabetical is a page by page grid which is so slow compared with picking the first 2 letters by the scrollbar on the note 3 launcher. Might have to try the Google one again since the reason I didn't last time is not wanting to re add all the wigits I use. Sine I will have to add them anyway.

Impressions?

Hi All, this is my second post on this forum, coming from S2, S3, S4, S5 Note 3 and now Note 4 here are my personal impressions... i wont touch about technical aspects as you can find plenty of them online.

First of all, i am not hard to please, i have never complained about the looks about the Samsung products, i care more about the internal hardware than about looks, but man!, this phone its pretty and more important the screen is amazing.

Bought the Vodafone version yesterday however im on spark network, everything is working fine, at nl they told me that 4g wont work, that's a lie as the NZ model is the 910U. even the bloatware from Vodafone can be removed.

People usually complain about Touchwiz, and sometimes i agree with them, bringing a very good cpu to its knees with all the complexity, however (and since the note 3)  samsung has made a really good work, no lag is present and the phone runs very smoothly.

The removal of useless gimmicks and addition of the new "multi window" its quite good.

Comparing the responsiveness, camera and overall experience with my late S5 and Note 3, its better, however its not something to die for.  is it worth the money? well for me it is as i spend a lot of time with my phone, can not complain.

Will update later on once i spend more time with the Note 4.

Im holding off on upgrading my phone atm, currently on the Note 2, waiting to get the Note Edge.

Im currious how much better multiwindow is on the Note 4 compared to previous phones???
It works fine on my Note 2, but never used a Note 3 to compare if any difference there

Nice that the Spigen Slim Armor has a kickstand now. I'm waiting for woodcases, as I will need one of these so I can use my 256gb SD card with the Note 4 (if and when I get one).

256gb card????? wholly sh!t dude!

Ive currently got a 64gb, was planning to get a 128GB, thats mean to be the max card size for the Note 4 & Edge.

Not tried a card larger than what its meant to take in any device as yet.

Formatted to Fat32 they all work with basically anything, but you need a ribbon adapter to use a full size SD card which entails a case mod of some kind or extended battery rear cover (without the extended battery inside).

I'm probably going to get a 512GB card when the recently announced Sandisk ones are available.

(also, if anybody was going to post that Fat32 is limited to 32GB, left me head you off at the past - that restriction has not existed for many years now)

Right. But the limit of single files larger than 4GB still exists.

Not all phones will do it. I have tried 64 gig micro SD cards in my huawei 300 or 320 handsets (cant recall which) and it just decides they are faulty - 32 gig ones are fine. No offer to reformat them, whereas my dirt cheap doogee and leagoo dual sims (second sim useless really) phones just said they needed formatting and then were perfectly happy with them.

Sure, but in practice that isn't a problem for my use. When SoCs get good enough for Dolphin emulation it might matter to me more, since then I might want Wii ISOs on the card, but until then I'm fine.
