Wipeout: heh, thanks Neets. All I needed is a little guidance. Heimdall was very easy to use and I will be using it from now to flash roms too. Odin didn't even require driver installation, which I think adds to it's instability. So happy right now!

Now to get hold of the person who ordered by new micro sd card two weeks ago and never got back to me.

Just a quick de-lurk to say hi to y'all and also thanks very much. A few weeks back I ordered a VF Galaxy I9000 from DSE while they were $799 and while waiting for it to arrive I've been reading through this none-to-short thread picking up info and making notes. I've got my phone now and am running with the VF 2.2 OS (updated via the dreaded KEIS which for the record worked fine before the update but now doesn't recognise the phone - but that's why we have ODIN).

I don't have any queries or problems to report...yet. I take solace in the knowledge that a friendly bunch of people are there to answer my questions when the time arises

Don't worry, I won't be (too) shy. For now I'm happy with the vanilla VF 2.2 while I figure out all the apps I want/need and wait to find the best/cheapest place to get a decent microSD card. BTW Neets, you had a look at http://www.viewranger.com/android/ - might be good for tracking those ridiculous runs you go on (though not cheap). I was checking it out as a useful tool for tramping...possibly going to try it out when I do the Tongariro crossing next week.

Ahhh, when you said you'd been taking notes, you weren't kidding! And it's clearly not just about the phone

Thanks for the link. I have a Garmin Forerunner 305 (GPS enabled) and use SportTracks to download the data. I'm pretty pleased with it all, but I will have a nosey at the link you've provided.

Churs! I know it's not old, but my mother is teasing me at the moment, it's quite cruel.

Also, give http://www.endomondo.com a go, it is quite a cool app. Me and my Dad use it on our phones. I can't run for long but at least it let's people see I am making a effort :)

New question.

Got an external SD card today. Now when the device gets plugged into the computer it mounts it as two separate drives (internal SD and external SD). Is there anyway to either change the priority so the external SD is number 1 or prevent the internal SD from mounting or have them treated as one drive?

I ask because since getting the external SD and filling it up with music my car headunit only detects the internal SD...because it doesn't have the capability of detecting 2 storage drives.
