Is it false advertising if Warehouse Stationery was advertising the $469 price saying offer ends 27/03 and they stopped offering the deal before then? I have a screenshot proving it.

its false advertising if they finished it short on purpose, it's a mistake if they made an honest mistake, there is no legal obligations to honour mistakes.

I am not sure about the screen protectors as I never saw them as I only spoke to the shop on the phone.

But I am sure the cases aren't cut to fit.

They cut them up and restitch them :p

Gaah just checked the 2deg site. I seem to be miles away from any actual 2deg shops

The screen protectors and cases are generic ones.

The case is a leather case which apprently fits really well and the genuine versions are arriving soon.

I took the plunge and purchased an X5 with the $150 top-up bonus (effective price $399).
Best thing I have purchased in ages.
I am absolutely loving this phone!! Albeit, that's not too difficult coming from a Nokia 1100, but it has definitely surpassed all of my expectations.

Does anyone know exact dates for the 2.3/2.4 upgrade? The 2degrees X5 listing makes mention of April/May for an upgrade that will enable the Wi-Fi hotspot feature. Anyone have any further details? Or maybe know of a 2.3/2.4 ROM for this awesome little phone?

I asked the same question to 2Degrees and got this back:

 Hi Andy,

Thank you for your email regarding your X5 and Android 2.3.

We cannot give you any definite confirmation when this will be possible as it will largely be dependent on Huawei and Android if and when the Android 2.3 will be available on your X5.

Kind regards

Thats concerning - It was advertised as being upgraded around April, if it isnt at all then you would have grounds to return it

It was never advertised as being upgraded to Gingerbread, only the Wifi hotspot feature

"*WiFi Hotspot: please note that the first software release for the X5 does not contain the Android WiFi 'Hotspot' feature meaning that your X5 cannot act as a WiFi Hotspot for other devices (e.g. laptop) to share its mobile data connection. However the standard WiFi function of the X5 itself is unaffected and works very well. There will be a subsequent software release in April/May which will add the WiFi Hotspot function and we will contact all 2degrees users to provide simple upgrade instructions."
