Is anyone using a parallel-import S6 Edge SM-G9250 (note, I'm referring to the Hong Kong/Singapore version, not the Chinese one that doesn't have Google Services). Running ok?

Well bit the bullet and bought the S6, my hesitance being my dependence on having 2 batteries and also the ext SD card. Bought the 64gb and also a wireless charging pad to cover those issues.

So first day I'm thinking this phone is really nice looking but if I am true to form I'll drop it so need a case which has also helped the slippery feel the phone has. Haven't really tried the phone but it is lightening fast, sompared to S5, and seems to take nice shots although I'm, not sure the low light pic's are any better than the 5 although this could be just me.

Day two and worrying about battery life as it dropped quite fast so thought I'd use the fast charge, didn't work so pretty annoyed so went to google for help, low and behold all it was that I hadn't pushed cable home into plug so after that it went very well so impressed with that over S5.

Screen wise its really noticeable improvement and a joy to use, even outside and video's look stunning. Touchwiz wise , yep its a lot better but I have always used Nova Prime and its loaded now. The themes don't suit me at all and seem like they have gathered them from a lot of school kids.

I usually flash a custom Rom on new phones but after looking at XDA forums I'm holding back, firstly the Knox issue being I can't use semble once tripped so look to getting root but new ping pong method only to find that Samsung have since fixed the bug allowing to root without tripping Knox. This means I can't use Flashfire which seems to be chainfires new app that can be used to flash roms without tripping Knox, so unless I just forget about Knox its going to be standard Samsung flavor.

I suppose I'm used to a rooted device but will see if I can fight off temptation to flash, time will tell.

To sum up, my opinion is that Samsung have made a great phone that doesn't suit Sammy fanboys like myself but it seems to be the best on offer right now across all OS's. For the price and the fact I didn't need to upgrade I'm having a few regrets but with normal human behavior patterns I'm sure I'll look for only the positives to justify the purchase.

Hmm, yeah. I bit the bullet on an S6, too. Mostly because my S4 fought the good fight but couldn't outlast the rough life it got at home and work. One too many adventures with my 2 year old may have had some impact...

I'm honestly not seeing *much* of a speed boost over my old S4 on a GE rom. It's definitely quicker but so much that I feel like it's a different phone? Not really. Battery life, one day in, also doesn't seem like a giant improvement at all. I'm quite fearful that I now need to buy numerous wireless chargers so they're everywhere I go and can keep the phone topped up...

That being said, I really like the speed of the camera. The tendency for it to over work the noise reduction is somewhat painful though... *deep breath* it's still significantly better than all the other camera-phone/phone-cameras I have used.

I like the phone. It's quick-ish. And it can take perfectly usable photos in most conditions.

Right. So now I have one, I need a decent screen protector. Any recommendations? It looks like a lot of them don't cover the curved edges of the screen. Is this common?

Should do. The Edge is exactly the same as the S6 4G bands wise.

My mate's S6 had the always on LED flash issue. This was fixed with the last Voda update. I've only just realised my S6 is a Voda aussie model. Black 64gb. I've just now been alerted to the same update. It's also 172mb

According to the live chat on their website they have no record that they will be getting a shipment from Vodafone?

More than happy to try and sell me a 2degrees model and change the settings for me though.

NikT tells me it's now available for Noel Leeming to order and stock but I don't know if that has been picked up. Maybe try calling through to your local store, alternately it is available outright at Vodafone stores of course.

So went with the option of outright from VF, although I didn't realise the price would be higher doing it that way... $1149 instead of $1099 at Noel Leeming (non VF model).
S6 32gb FYI.

Is there a reason for that?

Hi there, i'm just about to bite the bullet and get a new S6 edge but am struggling to get a clear answer on whether the round samsung wireless charger unit will still work if i change the case on the phone. ie. is the wireless technology in the s6 itself of the cover? Thx and sorry coz even though i'm thinking the answer is in this thread somewhere i've spent ages trolling thru it and can't find the specific answer.

The wireless charging works fine thru a case, Already covered in this thread

Yeps. And also plenty of videos on YouTube showing the edge in case working with the official Sammy wireless charger.

A Google search explains wireless charging is built into the handset by default and it supports 2 standards of this Qi and PMA

It just works :)

I've had my SGS6 Edge for about 2 weeks. The wifi is seriously flakey. It constantly reconnects to the AP...and leaves you wondering why it is disconnecting....and how long ago. I turned off the Smart Switch functionality, but that just seems to mean when it drops off the wifi it doesn't connect to....anything....until you provoke a connection by using the phone....at which point you enjoy watching the phone negotiate a connection with the wifi...and then do what you asked it to do. Very annoying delay of 5-10 secs if you're in a hurry.

My Nexus 6 doesn't behave anything like that....or any of my other phones (toooo meneee fonez...)

It sounds like you think that you can remove the cover off the phone to put it into a protective wallet. The S6 and S6 Edge are closed units - you cannot open the case like you could on previous Galaxy S models. This answers your question - the wireless charging is built in. HTH's
