nofam: Can someone clarify the Micro SIM situation?  Is this smaller than the SIM used in the SGSII, or is it the same?

S2 used a regular SIM, S3 uses a micro SIM (it is smaller).

Note that you can use a sim cutter to turn your regular SIM into a micro SIM, something I had to do recently to use the Motorola RAZR

Can you get a converter to put the micro SIM back in to fone with a normal mini SIM??

You should be able to put any SIM you like in it as they're not locked here..

Depends if you want to get it 1-2 days early with NZ warranty, for $17 extra....or 123 extra if you get pinged by GST, which there is a 2/3 chance you will!

I think I'll probably go NZ this time, but immediately root it, and put a European firmware on it.

Smaller stores will have less stock.

Also very common to make comments about limited stock as it pushes demand.

$123 is half a days work. Plus with the Samsung case it still seems cheaper.

One lot of freight back to the UK for warranty with insurance would cover that difference.

I will be pissed if VF are significantly more expensive than this. I wish they would give you account credit for your signing contracts rather than hardware discounts, but to put lots of margins on phones and then also only allow you rebates, is double dipping.

I'm betting they were planning on a much higher price but will have to rethink now that their competitor 2Degrees has made this offer through Warehouse Stationery
