Had Titanium Backup so have just finished restoring everything. Phone is still nice and fast running criskelomod.

Just got 1776 Quadrant score which is pretty good.

Even though Nofam said its not a big deal that's a a way better score than mine, what is the proper procedure for wiping a phone anyway?

And I used Galaxy S One Click Root http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=742403, but after that I had problems with apps force closing. I reflashed after that and realised that my phone was rooted even after the flash so I assume the rom is pre rooted (criskelosmod xxjpy) If you can confirm that defraggger?

Nope it is not pre rooted but It has built in CWM. Just boot into it using the 3BR and there is an option under one of the submenus to root it. Takes like 3 seconds.

Hmm, thats weird, can't have wiped my phone properly if It was already rooted. How do you know yours wasn't already rooted?

The apps needing root access would not work and ask for root. Superuser was not installed so this makes me believe it was not rooted until I did it myself.

Thank you nofam. I read it and bit my tongue. It was begging to have some response but I knew after my leather chaps comment it might push the boundaries had I said something.

Given my carelessness with looking after my data cable, I'm very glad Doc's roms can be downloaded direct from the net to the phone. Of course I do know how to use bluetooth so all wasn't lost but it's much handier to get the rom on the phone in one hit.

I think tomorrow when I get my head out of work stuff and finally get some "me" time I'll go for the latest and greatest Doc rom.

BTW, 1d 21hrs and 17 min I still have 40% battery left under my current beta rom using Trasig's kernel - which has been pulled from the kitchen.

I went Eclair 2.1 -> Darkys 7.6 (wipe) -> Darkys 8.0 (no wipe) all via the phone and haven't had problems. I was wondering about trying out a Docs ROM - is it feasible to put a Doc's rom (wipe) straight over the top, or do I have to do some kind of factory restore when switching?

Wipe versions do a factory reset during installation anyway.

With great descriptions of the kernel, ROM, modem etc some way back in the posts, I wonder exactly what gets backed up when you do a nandroid backup.

Will it back up all those parts, so if you like your current config and do a nandroid backup, will you always be able to return to exactly when you did the backup? (Assuming you don't brick your phone!)

Essentially yes - a nandroid backup is 'snapshot' of your entire system, from the Kernel, up through the Android O/S, applications, and data.

It's analogous to taking an image of a PC hard drive.

Are you talking about the market version (so I presume there's an update), or an animated version part of a theme?

In answer to your earlier question about the battery usage. I didn't get the stats before I started recharging the battery when I got home yesterday.

But it was normal use with Wifi going all day (at home and work), though yesterday I turned off Wifi (couldn't connect at work - seems fickle) and didn't turn on mobile data. But I had a couple more calls than usual (yeah ok, I had 2, which is 2 more than usual!) and the usual number of text messages.

I went to the market and it down loaded the new version. I don't see anything different than I had before. I wonder if the theme I have it's overriding it some how.
